I should have read the other reviews before ordering. I am having the same problem as everyone else. The lids don't properly fit the cups . There is no "snap", no "seal". If you are culturing fruit flies, you need that seal to be impenetrable, and these are absolutely worthless!

The containers are great, the lids are not tight fitting. very prone to flys escaping or the lid popping off

The lids do not fit the container. They do not close all the way, therefore are completely useless for their intended purpose. Do not buy this product, unless you want to be severely disappointed.

These work ok and are a great size for fruit fly cultures but there's a gap between the lid and the container so the flies can get stuck in there. I set a weight on top to keep them from escaping. I will not purchase again.

I tried these cups and lids for the first time and the lids don’t fit the cups well..the fruit flies are able to escape! Used lots of cups and lids last 15 years and never had this issue before.

The containers are crystal clear but the fabric material that acts as the barrier on the lid does not fully cover the holes, making it useless

I ordinarily sterilize cultures by placing them in microwave for 30 seconds. These cups, unlike the more expensive ones, melted. In addition, the flies escape because there is not a good fit between the lid and the cup. This became a problem once the colony peaked.
