We have been loyal fans of Aaron Putty for years, especially for my two granddaughters who enjoy the holiday and scientific themes. The quality has generally been excellent. However, I wanted to share some feedback regarding the Advent calendars we recently purchased. Unfortunately, we encountered some issues: none of the tins opened easily, requiring us to use a hammer to get them open. It felt like the product may have been stored for too long. Once we managed to open them, we noticed that the putty seemed less flexible than usual, and there were signs of it being dried out around the edges of the cans. We had hoped for a better experience. 😔

This putty is awesome even though it’s hard to open I still love it

I was waiting to rate until we opened our first day and I’m glad I did. My daughter specifically asked for this calendar and seeing as her friend ruined some of the magic of Christmas this year for her, I got it. The packaging is nice and so far it seems that all putty’s are in the package. What’s the problem you ask? We open our first box on December 1st and the thinking putty is absolutely impossible to open. I did give 3 stars, I guess in hopes that the rest will not be impossible to open but so far we just have a container to look at. No putty to play with.

The putty is all white glitter. No surprise there. Not very creative for a thinking putty. The containers were hard to open. Cut my hand trying to use a knife, freaked my kid out. Very unhappy for the price of the product. The putty is old and barely anything in it. Waste of money. Very disappointed.

Ordered this for my wife. Once the canisters are finally opened, the putty itself is fantastic — stretchy, squishy, and highly enjoyable for boys, girls and yes adults. The different putties provide a fun sensory experience that you can spend hours exploring. However, the process of opening the canisters detracts from the overall experience. The lids are difficult to twist off, especially as the putty often gets stuck between the lid and container, making it nearly impossible to open without a struggle. This design flaw would be better addressed with screw-on tops or a different sealing method, as it adds unnecessary frustration to an otherwise enjoyable activity. Once opened, though, the putty is a big hit, making it a great gift, despite the opening difficulty.

In theory, this is a great idea. However, when you get the advent calendar, every single puddy is extremely difficult to open, or you cannot open it at all after extended period of trying. The putty is not contained with a plastic package in the can so it’s stuck all over on the edges of the can gluing the cans closed. I would definitely not recommend buying this product.

Great pick for an Advent calendar. Comes with charms, mix ins, and glittery putty. Perfect for kids or any putty lover.

Purchased two, one for each child. 7 days in they’ve gotten the same putty in repeat in tins that require advanced engineering skills to open and some charms and mix ins with a lot of quality control issues (damaged/torn mix in package, multiple/repeat charms in one day)You basically get a mini run of putty followed by a pack of mix ins followed by a charm. Then the cycle repeats. No variety.Overall not worth it and a big disappointment.
