Does exactly what it says it will.
I have a number of rooms outfitted with Hue bulbs, and all of them have dimmer switches. For most rooms, I use the bulbs in lamps so there isn't an issue with having the normal switch still in place. For my kids rooms however, we have used the bulbs in the main light fittings because they work as excellent night lights and for a bit off fun. This presented the age old problem of not turning the light on by the wrong switch.Sure, in time you get used to it, but it's annoying to have to look at a pointless switch all the time. I had considered the Vimar and Niko switches, but these are pricy and mean you are just hardwiring the switch. If it meant all of the switches in the house matched, then I might have gone for that option, but given my switches look nothing like the standard switches from these manufacturers, and because I was not too comfortable with the idea of hardwiring the lights, I went for this option. It is simple, but effective. It matches the colour of the Hue dimmer very well, it is easy to fit, and fits neatly. The material is a hard plastic and not the 3d printed variety that in my view is quite unappealing. The switch plate is a little on the bulky side but that's unavoidable given what it has to do. On the whole I think this is a fantastic product and I will be buying another.

An excellent product and a great solution - good value for money
Absolutely brilliant product and as many have expressed, it is a wonder Philips don’t offer this or a similar product themselves. I bought this to go over my living room light switch because I was getting annoyed of people turn off the light from the light switch. Once you switch off the light using the switch you lose the smart controls. I didn’t fancy sticking the Philips remote light switch on my wall next to the main light switch so this adapter has been a much welcome solution.I can confirm this adapter is a perfect fit for the standard uk light switch so much so I have simply just placed it over my light switch without even using the screws. However to ensure the adapter is secure and doesn’t fall off I do recommend using the screws. The adapter has got good build quality, it feels strong, sturdy, durable and should hold in place. Once installed it will add some thickness and bulk to your light switch fixture but this is understandable because of its design and function, its placed over an existing fixture so it can’t really be any thinner. The good thing about this adapter is that it is very easy to install, and best of all once install you still have easy access to your main light switch by simply unclipping the Philips hue remote/mount. The adapter is a very good product that provides a much needed solution and I believe it’s well worth the money, I plan to buy more for other rooms. Hope this helps

Great solution to a common problem.
I (and many other Hue users) have had issues with the light switches for years. I previously had a 3d printed cover for my light switches, but this wasn't ideal as it didn't look very well finished. This product solves all the issues, covering a standard UK plastic light switch and securely holding the Hue remote switch. It will cover up to a 3 gang switch, although if it is a 3 way switch, it would have to be the sort where the switches are right next to each other with no gap, or they would be too wide for this to for over. It comes with some longer screws to replace the existing ones in your switch.Didn't initially realise that the hue switch comes in two parts- you have to remove the back part of the Hue fitting before it will fit over the light switches. It pops of with a screwdriver. (Photo attached).Once complete, the finished installation is quite big, but it's by far the best solution available, and one that Philips should have released with the switches from the start. Fitting it takes about 2 minutes and very little effort. This is a simple, but good quality product. I wish the whole set up were available in a chrome finish.

So smart I'm amazed Philips overlooked the idea.
My advice? Do yourself a MASSIVE favour, and don't hesitate in buying these switch covers just because they're not "branded" -- I did, and after I finally bit the bullet and ordered one, my only regret was that I hadn't done it months ago (and that I hadn't ordered one for every single room!).The Philips Hue Dimmer Switches are excellent in their own right, providing a replacement for the light switch function when you either don't have your phone on you, or just want to turn the bloody lights on/off without faffing with an app. However, there are two problems I've encountered with the dimmer switches, and this product address both with amazing simplicity.1. Hue Dimmer Switches only have two methods of attachment to a wall of surface, magnetic or adhesive. Most of us, it's safe to say, don't have metal walls. And while I have no complaints as to the quality of the adhesive backing they ship with, it has the same drawbacks of any adhesive: once it's stuck on, you can damage paint or wallpaper by removing it; & if you want to re-locate it, the strips don't stick as well the second time once they've been removed and aren't easy to replace. (Also, if you're renting, the idea of sticking ANYTHING to your landlord's wall probably fills you with dread!)2. The simple fact is that most of us have been using conventional light switches all our lives; it is INCREDIBLY difficult, even with the dimmer switch stuck right there beside it, to avoid hitting that main switch out of muscle memory.By engineering a switch cover that "slots in" using the same screws holding the light switch plate in place, a Dimmer switch can be fixed with no damage or permanent alteration to your home. The part of the frame that is screwed in is hollow, with the dimmer "holder" clipping onto it, which means that the original switch can be accessed quickly and easily by popping the holder off with no need to unscrew it. And finally, the dimmer switch is mounted where the original switch usually is, so when you're groping about in the dark you physically can't make a mistake. They're simple, functional, and pretty ingenious. Our whole home is fitted with Hue bulbs, which we absolutely love, but I can honestly say that these unassuming little frames are what have made it possible to have not just functionality but convenience throughout.
