This set allows my student to manipulate fractions. This helps her comprehend equivalency between them.

This fractions set is a great idea for teaching kids at home. It's difficult for them to visualize the idea of fractions - even with flat pictures. I like that these magnetic pieces can be touched and moved around - that seems to help better for learning. I like that this set goes to the 1/12 fraction - in both the circle and linear version.The set comes with 40 activities (20 cards, double sided). The magnetic pieces do fit on top of the drawings. There are also 2 dry erase markers, so kids can write directly on the cards. There are 2 dice included, so kids can roll them and come up with a random fraction. Once kids have completed the 40 activities, they can go back and do them again for practice. Or you can still use the magnetic pieces to teach on your own.The cards are decently thick and fully laminated. They should last fine with elementary age kids. The fraction pieces have a shiny front and a magnetic back. They feel sturdy enough as well.The only issue I had was that this was supposed to include "10 extra strips in case life happens and a few are lost." They were not in the set I received.Everything does fit back into the box neatly.

Nice set for my homeschool. Kids can maneuver easy. Makes a nice visual for easier teaching.
