Step up your mister game, with a few caveats.
I had some bad misting systems in the past from premade 1/4" mister lines to 1/2" pvc lines and was never happy with them. Either the cheap mister nozzles would clog or split and even when they did work the ground would be super wet and would leave calcium marks everywhere (didn't think we had very hard water). I had given up on misting system for about 10 years.Fast forward to a few weeks ago when at a local brewery that had a nice outdoor seating area an a crap-ton of misters that were PUMPING out really nice fine mist. It was so nice to sit outside even through it was HOT out. It was amazing that the ground wasn't really wet. A few beers deep, i started to research "commercial mister systems", now this Orbit Arizona Mister Booster Pump didn't really come up but i knew i needed a pump.I went searching for a reasonably priced pump (the brewery was probably using a 1000psi pump that was probably over $1k, a little out of my price range for a diy backyard job. In comes this pump.In my beer haze i quickly ordered a 1/4" kit that came with push connects and kept drinking. The next day when everything was delivered, i realized that i had made a mistake. This pump takes 3/8" line and just about 99% of all mister kits on amazon are either 1/4" or doesn't list the dimensions. I did what i should have done from the start and researched what was compatible and i saw that with this pump i'm basically locked into the Oribit 3/8 Professional kit (which isn't really sold on amazon). Luckily Lowes and Home Depot carry them for about $50/kit.Once i went and picked up a few kits and some other odds and ends i installed it and wow, its amazing. The mist is so much finer with the pump on than off.I'm super happy with the outcome! The pictures dont do it justice. And i hooked up a power meter and it draws about 48w while running.

Dry Water
These work very well for a fraction of the cost of very high pressure systems. 10 or 12 misters going and no moisture on the ground or table on porch. Fairly quiet also.

It Helps But More Pressure Would be Better
I have super low water pressure here at the house (25 PSI) so a pump was essential to prevent drippy performance from a misting system, but even with this pump, it still doesn't atomize the water sufficiently to prevent areas under the (6) nozzles from getting wet with temps around 90 and <20% humidity. That said, my misting system would be completely unusable without the pump. The only other quirk I didn't anticipate is that it is a pulsing pump and the tubing and the pump itself vibrate with the pulsing frequency of the pump. This is only a minor annoyance, but it is noticeable. I secured the tubing to a taut wire with zip ties and that minimized the pulsation of the nozzles.

Awesome performance pump
I added this to a relatively inexpensive misting kit off Amazon and it made a dramatic difference in the fineness of the mist. The mist nozzles aren't nearly as drippy as they were, night and day difference! This was well worth the extra expense to upgrade an inexpensive misting system.

Excellent mist pump
The media could not be loaded. Bought this pump for my 1/4” OD mist set. I did have to get a couple of items to adapt 3/8” to 1/4”, but very easy. The increase in mist PSI is fantastic. We used to get soaked, but now that the mist is really fine, the air is being cooled appropriately. Great buy.

Nice and clean easy setup
The media could not be loaded. Good for 5 to 6 sprayers not sure if I’m doing anything wrong with the connections but it looks clean so will keep it as is

Great Pump, works well and is quiet.
Really improves the coverage of the misting system. I would recommend using fine nozzles for the best results. Well made and you shouldn't even notice it running.

Must have (if you have a compatible system)
This pump really does make a substantial difference in the water droplet size. I just upgraded my system from a standard-pressure system. Before, the patio would get quite wet underneath the nozzles. Now, just the railing gets a little bit wet. You can sit directly underneath the nozzles and not get soaked like before. The pump is very quiet. The only thing I could say negative so far is that the water hose connections are a little touchy. At first, I apparently had too much tension on the hose leading out of the pump because it eventually sprung a leak. I adjusted my set up to take much of the tension off the hose and let it hang as loosely as possible out of the exit valve. These snap-lok connections are a little sensitive. As I was making the adjustment, the connector fell out of the pump completely! I was relieved that it went back in okay and would have been really angry if I had to return the pump for that. So far, so good. Be sure to check your local big box home improvement store (the blue one) as they have lots of Arizona Mist parts as well.7/7/11 Update: When I started my pump for the first time this year, it was not working as the water was not making it through the pump but just flowing out the bottom. I contacted Orbit, and they ended up replacing the pump. Fabulous customer service. They really stand behind their stuff. I'm a fan.
