If you are in frequent meetings, get one! It’s worth it 👍🏼
Received it yesterday and used it successfully today. Transcription and summary are great. My only complaint is for the earpiece/headset. It does not fit well. At least not for me. Everything works great though and it’s an easy setup! If it continues to go well I’ll probably opt for the lifetime pro membership. If you’re in as many technical or detailed meetings as I am, it’s worth it. Huge help

Pricey but competent, with good bonus features
So far this is a capable, competent dock that has only annoyed me in one small way (charging accessories, see below) and appears to be good quality and unlikely to just smoke itself. When you plug the dock into your computer, you get a notification to go to a website to connect (my first notification came from Google Chrome, which is not my default browser and is not allowed to show notifications. On a subsequent connection, it was an Edge notification popping up, which I couldn't dismiss without killing it in task manager.)You do not have to do that to have a functioning dock. The hardware works on its own.The "go here, do this, make account, sign in" part is only to do the spiffy stuff like have this thing transcribe recordings and meetings. I've had it do that with a short recording, it did fine. Nothing happens that is worth remembering or writing down in 99% of the meetings I'm ever in, but I'll test that out sometime in the future for giggles to see if it can summarize 60 minutes of rambling nonsense into something coherent.Hardware stuff: did it do what you want your dock to do?Computer charging: yes, when plugged into usb-c computer outlet on the dock and the usb-c power inlet on computer.Sound: yes, just plain plugged in and booting computer, the boot sounds go to the speaker. The speaker is pretty good (my music sounded like my music, but this ain't a subwoofer and 7.1 Dolby sound system.) There's also a one-ear, on-ear headset that connects to its cradle via Bluetooth. The cradle connects magnetically to the dock. Seems to work ok. Caveat for using, if you take it out of your ear it automatically switches to the speaker, so if you're using it to listen to NWA, now your whole office can hear Ice Cube's opinion of the police.Accessories charging via the dock's USB ports: finicky, and only when you have a computer connected. If you undock the computer, your phone, flashlight, Fitbit, whatever it is you're charging stops charging. Seems a bit silly to me, why can't I charge my Bluetooth headset or phone using the dock's ports while I'm away?Video out: untested as yet. 2 HDMI ports, I have some confidence it will function based on other people's reviews.Briefly back to the recordings part... You're wondering, as I was, "does this give me some premium level of access to Chat-GPT?" and apparently the answer is no. You get access to the hinotes . hidock . com website, from which you can update your firmware, drag and drop mp3 and other sound files to have them transcribed, and there's ways there to connect your Outlook or Google calendar to, presumably, enable meeting transcription.

Nice dock with other capabilities
It works as expected, and the sound quality is great, in my opinion. I've been using it as my main speaker. The microphone seems to sound low on the other end unless I get very close to it.The build quality is great, and the recording capabilities work well. You can still use a different mic—I'm using my camera's built-in mic, which sounds very good. With that setup, everything works as I need.

A device I did not know I needed
It is not very often that a computer peripheral comes along that brings new functionality to computers. This is one of those that ended up surprising me on how useful it is. At its core, this is a high-quality USB dock using the latest technologies for USB3 and HDMI. The USBC cable that comes with this dock is also a high quality one with hi speed data transfer support. And the Ethernet on this dock is 2.5GbE which is rare but very welcome to find on a USB dock. But also on this USB dock is an aesthetically retro looking conference speaker and wireless earpiece attachment with touch controls. Switching from the speaker to earpiece is seamless and intuitive. The sound quality of the speaker is fairly good quality and works well as a mono output for everyday computer audio. It does have some bass to it as well, however it cuts out below 60hz when doing a bass test. The volume nob has a nice quality feel to it along with its push button function. The earpiece sound quality is also decent enough for conference calls and is more on the treble end of audio. The range from the station is quite good, I am able to walk across my house (70ft and through walls) without losing signal which is better than my gaming headset. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear over the ear without causing fatigue. The battery on this earpiece also lasts for a decent length of time, as I have been able to use it through 2+ hour meetings with no issues. On this dock is also a red slider for background noise reduction which is convenient and easy to use, although gimmicky for something that can be usually handled in software. In my experience I've found a sweet spot for it and have rarely needed to adjust it further. In my tests using Teams, I have configured this dock to automatically start recording so no additional actions are needed. If it is a meeting I want to transcribe, I can then head to the Hi-Notes web application and convert the meeting to text and create meeting summaries. The Hi-Notes web application has a few options on how to create these summaries using AI, including a handful of templates available on the free plan as well as two AI engines (ChatGPT and Claude). In my experience so far, Claude typically does a better job jotting down and summarizing the details. The quality of these summaries is like magic! This is really the most interesting and useful function of this product as it saves a tremendous amount of time and lets me focus on the conversations instead of missing details while writing down notes. So initially a skeptic of this kind of product, thinking it was a gimmick or fad, I am now sold on the idea of AI transcription services. It is also nice that along with this product the transcriptions are free, which is good enough for my purposes. There are some additional templates and services behind premium plans however that seem well suited for a company that invests into these kinds of products. For general meeting use however, this is a product I never thought I needed until I had a chance to try it out. Being that this is also a high-quality USB dock that comes with free transcription services, it is a great value.
