Had One for Years; Bought 2 More as Gifts
I've had an older version of this multi-purpose knife for years. I've found it very useful and bought one for our daughter and her fiance. They were thrilled with the gift.

Mine has a couple of issues...
I purchased this Sheffield 12-1 Hatchet multi-tool today at Walmart. The only thing that I don't like about it is that ALL of the tools metal edges are very sharp, making it uncomfortable to hold in my hand. It seems like they would have rounded the edges out but they are rough and sharp with even some machine hack marks. The knife, screwdrivers, and saw blades were also very stiff and difficult to open. Other than those two issues the little tool is heavy and seems well made. The blades are all pretty sharp. As others have mentioned, you should keep the little rubber sheath on the hatchet when not in use because the hatchet blade comes out to the edge of the carrying pouch and could bump your arm or hand and cut you. In other words the pouch is a bit small for the tool. This hammer and hatchet are not going to do anything major for you but it just may help save your butt if you're in a survival situation. I purchased it to put in my bug out bag. I've uploaded a picture of my Sheffield that I purchased tonight as proof that I own it since I did not buy it from Amazon, therefore can't be a verified purchase from Amazon.

Everyone at the warehouse wants one
Why carry around a whole toolbox when this fits into your pocket? I need so much on it all the time. The hammer is hard to use when taken out of the holder, so I just keep it in the black holder it came with for a larger grip. I also keep the diagram in there too to show people. The holder's also ok for storing nails, but I'd get a bag, as they tend to poke through or fall out. The only thing I don't like is having a knife with it, but I bet it'll come in handy (it's a really good one). It's really hard to pull out each item (especially the screwdrivers), that I broke my nail doing it. So I use a 9-in-1 tool to save me the hassle. I got cut with the nail remover (on the other side of the hammer) opening a coconut. So If using it for that, use gloves and twist instead of just pulling.

Amazing for the money
As an axe, it's not too effective beyond whittling a few small pieces of kindling off of a log. But keep in mind it's very small. The other tools are easy to pull out and work well. The only difficult tool to pull out is the Phillips screwdriver but in a camping situation you probably won't need to use that one.The kids enjoyed trying to use it to get kindling off of wood. And it's not too sharp to be unsafe so I was o.k. with letting them try it out.The little rubber safety piece comes too easily off the axe blade but it never was a problem and miraculously was never lost. The carrying case works as expected and seems durable. The summary is that for the money this is an incredible little device. The quality is not super-mega-high but for the money I can't figure out how they made this.

Great item!
Love this! Great for gifts, crafting, fishing, hunting, survival class practice, etc. I just bought 2 more as gifts for family that loved mine!! Also several family & friends who have seen/borrowed/used it now want to buy one!! The only thing I can possibly think of as a possible negative is that the latch comes undone a bit easier than it should but it has a case. So if you latch it then put it in the case you are fine!!

Impressed
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad. He is a huge tools guy and owns every single tool you can think of. I thought this would be a great idea to have in your car or when you’re on the go because it has all of the basic essentials. He was very impressed with this product and didn’t even know they had something like this out there. The quality does not feel cheap at all and feels very well made. It’s not super light to where it feel so cheap but is also not super heavy where you couldn’t use it on the go. It also comes with a case to store it in while you aren’t using it.
