Point at something spinny and it gives a number
Very simple design, and it does what you expect. I had a motor that I needed to check the RPM of, this did the job no problems.

Works well
Used for checking angle grinder RPM.Worked well with a clear, steady reading.This takes 3x AA batteries (not AAA as stated in the description) which were included. Some others require you to buy expensive 9v batteries.I did not have any problem with the reflective tape coming unstuck as other reviewers have mentioned.Recommended.

Great product really
Seems to work ok, maybe the tape could be a bit bigger / easier to use.Beware of the laser beam too - it will reflect back.But other than that, it seems like a good handheld speed reader really. Is it accurate? I think so.

Easy to use
Very easy to use, just make sure the surface that you stick the tape to is clean with no grease

not that great
I bought this to check the speed of my mowers after repair, and have found it totally useless. As others have indicated, the main issue is getting the reflective paper to stick to anything. The instructions say to find a smooth, clean and flat surface to attach the reflector to, but on a mower flywheel, that is near on impossible.

Wrongly advertised so waste of time
Absolute rubbish. Bought to measure the rpm of my petrol mower. The sticky pads don't stick and it's just a bad design altogether. The description needs changing as I thought it would be a point and read counter.

ok for the price paid
I was uneasy about this item having read other reviews but if used within a suitable application area it seems to work well. It is particularly sensitive to there being a very clear contrast between the reflective sticker and the background on which this is placed. On a rotating dull steel slightly rusty disc it gave totally random speed measurements. I then spray painted the disc matt black and replaced the reflective strip and I got a reliable and constant steady reading.
