Q: Do I need to purchase a separate coil crimper plier for this or does the machine automatically tuck the coil ends?

No separate coil crimper needed for wire binding. the wire binding is usually manufacture so that thecoils wont work its way out of the hole punch paper.

Q: Can you only use the combs from fellowes or will ones we have on hand from an old gbc machine work too?

Hi Dana. If the wire binding combs are the same style as ours, 3:1 punching pitch, and 32-hole pattern, they should work.
