Cerwin Vega 15 Inch Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-15AR (Pair)

These kits are awesome. Watch the video and you’ll be fine. Unfortunately my voice coil was shot on 1 speaker but the 2nd one was great. Third time I’ve used these kits.Sadly I wish they still made these speakers because my old ones are getting tired. This is the last time I’ll try to refoam. I just bought new woofers. That said if you’ve still got life in your Vegas this kit is amazing.

I bought two pairs of Cerwin Vega DX-9's and a single pair of DX-5's when I was in the military and stationed overseas. The speakers have been used or kept in high humidity environments for their entire life (30+ years), the foam surrounds on the woofers were toast. The speakers had been stored away and unused for many years and mama said throw them out. I was going to throw them out until I found these kits. ;-) I watched the suppliers video on YouTube and took my time, starting with the 12-inch woofers from my DX-5's. Initially I had some difficulty removing the old foam and adhesive until I found the right tool. If you happen to have a watch knife, also known as a watch back removal tool. I've included a picture for reference. They are not razor sharp and work perfectly along with some isopropyl alcohol for removing the old glue and foam from the frame and outer edge of the woofers paper cone. Oh, and while I'm at it I don't suggest you use "Rubbing" alcohol as suggested in their video. 91% isopropyl alcohol is just as safe, works faster at removing/loosening the old glue, and evaporates quickly leaving no residue behind because it's more pure. Last, but not least, be patient with the glue. It will eventually tack up and stay put, but may need repeated applications of firm pressure until it finally bites. I highly recommend this kit to anyone needing to replace their foam surrounds. Was quite easy to do and by the time I finished with the 4th 15-inch woofer I was quite proficient at the process. On top of all this...my old speakers are ROCKIN' the neighborhood once again! Now about those old Bose 901s....

These kits are exact and produce amazing results. They will restore all the audio dynamic quality and legendary sound of your Cerwin Vega Speakers. I am more than delighted with the end results and the quality and performance of this kit is exactly what any pair of older Cerwin Vegas need to sound like they were fresh out of the packaging brand new.

Good product,Second time replacing. Hardest part is cleaning off woofer for replacement. Take your time and apply adequate amount of glue and get good adhesion.

I picked up a pair of Cerwin Vega AT-15's about 7 years ago (for free!!!!), and over time the foam surrounds on the 15" woofers deteriorated. I finally decided it was time to refoam them, and found this kit here on Amazon. I have no idea what the cost of similar kits are, but I figured I could afford 30 bucks (the cost of the kit at the time I purchased it) to repair free speakers. I received the kit in a timely manner, and the instructions were easy to follow. I was able to repair the speakers and they sound awesome! I had never replaced the foam surround on any speaker before, so I made sure to do a lot of research so as not to mess anything up. If you're interested in this kit, I recommend it!

The instructions are straightforward

A couple months back I bought some old Pioneer 15" 3 way speakers at a Habitat for humanity. They were in good condition except for some foam rot. I bought this kit because it was one of the only ones on Amazon and I really trust Cerwin Vega. All of their products are excellent. The foam arrived in great condition and I tried to follow the instructions that came with it, but it was written badly. I couldn't understand what it wanted me to do, so I looked up a video on YouTube on how to refoam a speaker. That helped a LOT.After refoaming the speakers have sounded great! It's been a while since refoaming and I have taken the speakers to several parties and they have worked great. The foam has held up and I am guessing that it will for years to come.So, if you need your speakers refoamed, this is the kit to get.
