Dhol Drum by Maharaja Musicals, Mango Wood, Natural, Barrel Shaped, Padded Bag, Beaters, Nylon Shoulder Strap, Punjabi Bhangra Dhol Musical Instrument (PDI-GE)

Had to return it, quality is bad. Also looks very old.

On December 18, I was still struggling with the perfect Christmas gift idea for my Punjabi boyfriend. He had recently mentioned studying the dhol in college, but wasn't able to bring something so large when he moved to the US last year. I came on here, saw the great reviews, and ordered him this drum. I contacted them to see if it would arrive in time for Christmas, and was assured it would. It arrived on December 22nd (yep, from India to here in four days, which included a weekend and the holiday craziness). My boyfriend said the dhol quality is perfect. He is very happy and his recent gatherings with friends include a lot more singing and dancing.

Came in excellent condition. But almost could not find sticks and screw wrench in the wrappings since it was taped inside. So check all the wrapping because if you don't you might throw away the sticks and wrench. It would be nice to have them wrapped separately but come in the same package so no one mistakenly throws away. But I'm having fun playing my Dhol.

Okay, I was exaggerating a bit.The product gets shipped from New Delhi in amazing packaging. I guess the real value for the drum is between 100 and 150 but no one in China or the U.S. makes it, so it has to come from else where. As a result, you are paying a lot for shipping, which is embedded in the cost, and it is totally understandable.The 'Dhol' (drum) itself is very solid and nicely made. It sounds great. They do ship all the items they claim to ship. There is not much else to write about the product. Rest is up to the people who would play it.

I ordered this dhol on the 02/12/14 and I got it today. it would've been here earlier but there were snowstorms all across the northeast. This dhols picture does not to do it justice it is much nicer than the picture and the packing is a little tedious to get through but boy was it safe!!. The beaters and wrench were hidden in the packing so be careful not to throw them out while unwrapping. This is a solid product I strongly recommend it to people who are interested in learning or replacing and old one. i just wish it came with a carrying case. but other than that no problems here. Great stuff here guys.

Dhol came well packed and was as advertised. Have been enjoying playing it for the last couple of months.

The dhol is in perfect condition and the best decision I made to buy this.
