Q: What is the size of block and are they breakable, or will they disintegrate? I have a small stove and normally chop wood into 6"

Hello, thank you for your enquiry. Each Hotblock briquette is approximately 150 x 85 x 65 mm.... this equates to approx 6". Hotblocks are not breakable and burn to leave less than 1% ash. I would think that they could, as long as you kept them weather proof and off the ground. I have mine stored in a small lean too she'd, keeping each bundle wrapped in their plastic wrap. Hope this is of some help

I'd say that each block burns for 1 to 2 hours and I put several in my stove at a time. I haven't seen any facts about the calorific output of the blocks but it is very consistent. With logs of 'normal' wood there is a wide variation of heat output even between individual logs off the same tree. This makes a comparison diffiicult. Subjectively the blocks seem like reasonable value but I haven't been able to calculate it for the above reasons. Also I do tend to agitate the fire every hour or so which I'm sure does reduce the burn time but I'm getting more heat out of them during the time they are burning. I don't like them to be sitting there smouldering but that's a personal preference. the stove that I've got is more efficient and less polluting when stuff is burning strongly.
