Trooper and I received his new leash about a month ago and have used it almost every day since. Our typical walk is four miles in just about an hour. Ever since transitioning to the new leash we keep wondering why we didn't get one of these years ago! After having used a six foot leash all these years, the Flexi Giant is like being let out of jail. ( Not that I would know anything about that feeling.. ). Anyway, let me explain what's so great about it;I guess the first point to cover is that someone who insists their dog march in lockstep next to them, not waivering in the least, mimicking a tin soldier, will likely never be interested in a leash like this. Why? Because this leash lets a dog act more like a dog than a robot. The Flexi Giant lets your dog explore, doddle a bit, or even run in short bursts without him and the owner constantly being jerked around by a ridiculously short tether.One of the features I appreciate the most is the fact that the mechanism keeps the exact right amount of tension on the leash so slack is taken up but the dog is not restrained unnecessarily. The leash NEVER drags on the ground. The engineers nailed this feature perfectly! As your dog moves closer, slack is taken in. If he moves away, the reel unwinds effortlessly.There is a button to lock the spindle. This can be held temporarily or locked in place indefinitely. With very little practice, you will find yourself using this feature to limit the amount of leash taken out so your dog doesn't get in a position to wind around a tree or venture where you don't want him to go.The mechanism is very ergonomic and is super comfortable to carry and use. Yes, it weighs something, but not enough to even lay any mind to. I find the lock controls easy to use. My only complaint is that the lock does not always engage the instant the button is depressed, depending on the reel position and if the spindle is in motion. This is not a major issue, just some to be conscious of...When we first got the Flexi, I was a little surprised how small the webbing ( leash ) material was. But having had to restrain Trooper numerous times, I now have full confidence that it is plenty strong. By the way, Trooper is a 55 pound Lab/Border Collie mix.I am super impressed with how well made this product is and how well it functions.Also, I thought 26 feet was going to be way too long. Boy, was I surprised. I think it's a great length and I'm so glad I didn't go with a 15 foot leash instead. By the way, this is not just a 4+ fold increase in freedom. It's more like a twenty fold increase! That's because your dog is roaming the area of a circle and is not restricted to a straight line!So in closing, let me just say that the Flexi Giant is a great value which will pay for itself many times over. My only regret is that I didn't start using one of these a long time ago.

Love this leash. Easy to stop an any length, then release. Good for alot of puppy traffic and keeping him at bay. Nice long length capability too. Comfortable in hands

I have a 75lb lab/bloodhound he’s 2 years old so still has a lot of energy, curiosity and tends to pull when he’s excited. We train for loose leash walking but he hasn’t perfected it quite yet. This leash gives him the freedom to roam ahead and explore but I still have control. It’s honestly a game changer. I only used it once so I don’t know how it’ll be after a month or two of using, but this first walk was amazing! I think he enjoyed the freedom to check things out without having a tight leash to keep him close. He wandered off but followed me whenever I was a little far. It has perfect control and I had no issues with any tangling, the leash retracts perfectly. If you have a big baby who likes to explore and pulls because you have to keep him close, don’t hesitate to buy this! I’m excited for longer walks in the park where I don’t have to run with him to get to a smelly spot. I can just watch my baby explore from a distance but still have control. I love this leash!!!!

Purchased for my ACD mid size, works great, good quality, well made. Ribbon is 16' long which is a good reasonable length. Fits my hand perfectly and comfortable. Only wish the swivel attachment was a bit larger but not that big a deal. Also purchased the accessory multi box to hold poo bags which is very convenient.Well priced, my dog seems to like it as well, gives him a little bit more freedom when walking.Would def purchase again.

I've had this FLEXI® 16ft leash for a few weeks & I like it. My previous Flexi leash was made in West Germany (back when there was a West Germany), and it lasted through 2 dogs (slightly over 20 years), but eventually the main spring broke. My old leash had a cord; this one has a tape instead, but I expect this to last a long time too. (I really like the gray & black color combo.)

Easy to use, and retracts without getting stuck. Nice and short. My dog loves it and can feel free without the risk of losing her.

I'm a dog walker. I have tried several retractable leashes.Flexi never fails. Others dont last, stick and in general don't hold up like a flexi.

Love the new style! It’s more ergonomic, lighter weight, and finally there is a 26’ tape available for the medium size. I also like that the tape rolling area is open so if it gets a little damp it has a chance to air out. My only qualm is that there’s nowhere to clip my flexi hardshell bag holder on this model, but that’s ok, I have a soft zip-up holder I can use. I can see that the light neon colored tape is also going to look dirty much quicker, but I will try to clean it. So far so good, I’ll update about durability when issues arise

Love this leash. Great Bang for your buck! Extends long, can handle my 140 lbs bratty boy with ease. No tears so far. Easy grip and the bag holder accessory fit like a glove.

You need a light, responsive leash that fits well in your coat pocket. I just replaced an identical previous leash that lasted for 4 years of very hard use with an active medium dog. After 4 years, everything falls apart at once -- the spring gets soft, the tape gets all ratty and bumpy, and the case is banged up. It's a perfect design where every wears out at once. You can't fix it, I tried. Just get a new one. As an engineer, I know they could get one to last longer, but it would be heavier, and the spring less responsive. Not worth it.

Tape leash better than cord leash, great texture on the handle, easy to use after some practice
