Love this tea
A hearty green, almost taste like a twig tea. I use it to make kombucha - superior to black tea.

A splendid deal! Good bancha at an amazing price
I've looked for bancha for sale all over the net, but I don't think I've seen a better price anywhere. The 4 packages make up 2 pounds of decent quality, pure, loose Japanese green tea at a cheap price, shipped to your house in days! Woo hoo!I love the stuff, even though I also drink fancier green teas. I've bought a few batches of this particular tea, and the flavor may varied slightly between different batches. By purchasing 4 boxes at once, you're almost guaranteed they'll all be from the same batch and will have consistent quality and characteristics. The tea is moderately sweet, mellow; not too astringent, with fragrance notes of honey and oatstraw, and a clean, crisp aftertaste. Steep for a very short time (around 30 seconds) and, of course, use a low, green-tea temperature water. Otherwise it may become too bitter due to the higher tannin content in bancha.Like most banchas, it lacks the other-worldly aroma of a good sencha or gyokuro, but that's OK because this is a different kind of tea. It's more like a casual beverage for drinking throughout the day. The low caffeine content makes it ideal for this.

Great tea
I drink Ban Cha for years, sometimes mixing with Gen Mai.If you use water before boiling temperature, use right container for brewing, you will get amazing, refreshing and nourishing tea.Decent price for a good quality, and of course Japanese perfection they put into everything.

This is my go-to tea for daily refreshment.
I have been making and drinking this tea since 1995. I make it in batches of 2-2quart containers at a time, adding 1/8th cup of raw sugar per 2 quart container and store it in the refrigerator . I drink it iced but also enjoy it hot. It gives me energy and provides many health benefits. I like diversity in my life and enjoy several types of teas but this is my go-to tea for daily consumption. I have shared it with friends and they love it too!

My favorite Tea
I found this product years ago at a Korean Grocery, and have been drinking it ever since. I moved some time ago and could not find a local purveyor of the product, and was happy to find it again on Amazon with better prices than I would find in an Asian grocery. It has a lovely floral, nutty taste, and I often brew it half and half with a nice Orange Pico Tea for summer ice Tea. Love it.

My favorite Green Tea!
I'm no Tea expert but I know what I like. I've been buying Hime for several years and love it. I like brewing loose leaf tea not bags and prefer this brand because of the flavor. Can't beat the price!

expensive compared to grocery stores, good flavor for the price
I enjoy this tea. The flavor is a little rougher than other varieties of Japanese-style green teas, like the more popular genmaicha or sencha. I drink a lot of green tea and would get bored drinking the same variety all the time, so I rotate through several different types and this bancha is in my regular rotation. You get 4 big boxes of tea in this package, but unlike many other brands of green tea, you need to use a lot of this stuff to get a good flavor (the box recommends 1 tablespoon of tea leaves per 1 cup of hot water, which is 3 times as much as what some other brands recommend). If you're using a tea ball, you can reuse the tea leaves at least a couple of times. My only complaint is the price; this same product costs $4/box at my local Asian grocery store.

Broken up too much
Taste is okay, but the product is SOOO broken up that about half the weight is basically powder.
