Bought this machine for our family as a Christmas present and it is amazing. Awesome machine, we love it. I did my research and spent time reading many, many reviews about this machine and also the differences between the different models of this brand machine. Firstly, I'd like to cover some of the issues that others have brought up in their reviews and my observations while owning the machine for four months.SHIPPING DAMAGE?Firstly, when your order arrives, make sure that there is no damage to the box before tearing into it. Many folks have given bad reviews on this machine simply because it was damaged in shipment. Remember that Amazon ships these, not the manufacturer, and you are reviewing the product, not the shipping. Now, with that being said, there have been issues linked to the shipping damage like the unpopped kernel tray not fitting in or sliding well and the doors not lining up when installed. This is usually due to damage and warping of the machine during transit. Even our machine looked perfect once it was opened, but the doors didn't line up once installed and I had to give the machine a bit of a correction. Easiest way to do this is to grab one corner at the top and the opposite corner at the bottom and push towards each other...this corrected my crooked door issue.RUST ON CEILING?There was one review that mentioned the ceiling of their machine was beginning to rust. I'm not sure why this would happen unless they are using excess amounts of water when cleaning the machine. I've been cleaning ours using a rag and a bowl of mild dishsoap and water mix. I dab the rag in the bowl and wipe down the machine with it and then use a separate rag and clean water to wipe down again to remove the soap. Keep in mind that this machine will be in constant contact with popping oil. If you clean it today, the next time you use it everything will be splattered with oil again. We tend to clean the machine every few days using this wipedown technique. Yes, there is still a bit of oiliness to the machine, but I imagine that similar to a cast-iron skillet, this is good and helps keep the metal surfaces protected against things like rust.HARD TO CLEAN POPPER PAN?Yes, I will admit that cleaning the popping pan out is pretty hard. Thankfully it does remove from the machine as it has to be installed the first time you put the machine together. But others have noted, it's hard to properly clean the pan with the lid flaps in the way. There's not any way to remove them, so I just have to do my best at cleaning the pan with the lids getting in the way. You will get some browning on the bottom of the pan...they do sell a cleaner that they recommend in the instruction booklet, but I haven't purchased or used it yet. I usually use the same soapy water technique from above to clean the pan out the best I can. DO NOT SUBMERGE IT IN WATER!DOESN'T POP ALL THE KERNELS?I will guarantee that you will NEVER get all the kernels to pop. However, I will agree that this thing spits out a lot of unpopped kernels that seem to go to waste. I'm still working on a fix for this, but I've read that others have mentioned setting something on top of the pan flaps that isn't too heavy to keep them from opening too soon. This holds the kernels in for a little longer so they can actually pop (plus it allows the popping oil to saturate the popcorn a bit more giving a better flavor). Now, things you have to keep in mind is the pan gets HOT. So whatever you put on it has to hold heat...don't use plastic. I tried a metal butter knife and it worked, but it got really hot. It also dropped to the tray below and I'm worried I might dent the bottom tray or hit the glass on the side and break it. Also keep in mind that whatever you put on the top WILL FALL INTO THE POPCORN, so use something that it's going to be an issue. I'm planning to use a silicone spatula, it has enough weight to hold the popcorn in for a bit, it's silicone so it won't melt/burn and it's safe to fall into the popcorn without making anything inedible.MODEL VERSIONSThey do make other model versions in this brand, each have different sized popping pans. The larger the pans, the more popcorn they can make at one time. Also, others have two switches on the top instead of three. The three on this machine control the 1)light and warming tray 2)kernel stirrer 3)popping pan heat. I liked this model best because it means I can turn off the popping pan heater once the popping starts to slow, but leave the stirrer on so the kernels still popping don't burn. Other models combine these two options into one switch, which means as soon as you turn it off the stirring stops and you have to dump the pan or get burnt corn.WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT ITWe love that it looks like a professional movie popcorn machine. It makes popcorn the way it's made at the movies too, not with air or in a microwave. The warming light/tray is amazing for keeping popcorn tasting warm and fresh for a while. We have even left popcorn in the machine and turned on the warming tray the next day and ate warm popcorn that still tastes great a day later. We love that the machine is the talk of friends when they come over and they all always want popcorn. They think it's neat to get handed a bag of popcorn like at the fair to eat while watching TV or playing a board game.The popping takes a few minutes, and there will be a bit of smoke as the oil heats up and a bit of steam as it pops, but it smells wonderful. Cleaning can be a chore and usually takes me about 20 minutes to do, but I tend to only clean it every few days. Less if it isn't used as much.We are currently buying and using the pre-measured packs of popcorn that are sold at GFS (can't remember the brand) that use coconut oil. It has everything you need to pop a batch of popcorn right in the pack. You can use your own oil, corn, and flavoring solutions as the machine does come with a set of measuring cups for this and instructions on how much of each to put in.We typically will pop a batch of corn or two and leave the machine light and warming tray on for a few hours. We will then turn it off but leave the corn for the next day. You can turn the light and warmer on again and eat it the next day with no issues. The popcorn will get stale after a while so it either needs to be eaten, tossed, or put into a ziploc bag for saving. We can usually find a way to eat all ours within the next day between three kids and the occasional friends over.This model can be purchased with a cart bottom, but we purchased it as the top machine only for a cheaper price ($129). The cart CANNOT be purchased later, per the Amazon page. Not sure if it can be ordered direct from the company or not. So decide if you want the cart or not before you purchase. It does have rubber feet that keep it sturdy on the table or countertop.It is BIG, check the dimensions before ordering. This is like the size you'll see at a convenience store or at a small church gathering. One batch is enough for our family of five for a cereal bowl each and some extra. During parties we'll usually pop two batches.We have had NO issues with our machine since purchase and do not regret it one bit. The popcorn tastes amazing and much better than it's microwave counterpart. IT TASTES LIKE EATING POPCORN AT THE MOVIES!December 2022 update, still going strong with this machine and loving it. I actually just got some great popcorn seasoning for Christmas! This is your forever popcorn machine, you won't regret it

Ok, first... As far as appliances go, I rarely give 5 stars, so this could change in the future. That being said...The machine arrived promptly, well packed, and fully working (once I put it together) What little assemble was required, was quick and easy. It actually took us longer to clean the fingerprints off the well packed glass doors than it did to assemble it.As far as the company, other that ordering it and the speedy delivery, I had no other dealings with them, so I cannot say more that they delivered what was promised.The machine it's self works great and being a popcorn nut, does give as close to movie popcorn as you can get. Just remember that the type of popcorn and humidity are key factors.***UPDATE***After having this machine for many months, I still give it high marks... It could be improved by adding a fan to run while the popcorn is popping to remove the large amount of steam from within the machine itself.A door was broken while cleaning (dropped) and I ordered another... It arrived before the est. arrival date, was well packed and installing quickly... Great machine, great company.I do have a problem with how the machine is represented..."Makes roughly 3-gallon of popcorn per batch" This conflicts with the manual. what it should say it that the inside storage will hold about 3 gallons. this means roughly 3 to 4 batches of popcorn."popcorn scoop is included; reject kernel tray kernel and oil scoop included" Ok the first thing you want to do, is trash the cheap plastic scoops and steal some of your wife's measuring cups... One level cup of popcorn per batch. Use a half cup for the oil for oil, (use included spoon to find a level in a larger measuring cup to add a few drops more...as there is always oil left in the spoon)The manual tells you only to use a max of 1/2 oz per batch. (not so...) I talked to the guy at the bowling alley bar and he showed my the oil he uses (from a local bulk commissary chain) and some flavored popcorn salt. I found that to make a good 1 cup batch of popcorn, it takes 1 Oz of oil not 1/2.Other than that follow the directions and you'll have your movie popcorn experience.To this point, a month of popcorn, I have no complaints, gripes, nor problems so I cannot add or deny some of the other lesser reviews, I can only say what I've experienced...and I'm as happy as a kid in a theater chowing down on a box of buttered popcorn.A follow up: Wife broke one of the doors and had to order a new one, the 25 bucks was fair, it shipped quickly and arrived intact. Even called their busy cust. support, and although I had to leave my number they got back within 30 minutes... Still give this 5 stars after many uses.
