ZVOX VoiceBud VB20 Hearing Aid with Two-Microphone NoiseBlocker Technology, App Control (Beige Left)

After a couple of years, my right ear hearing aid stopped working; a visit to the audiologist confirmed that it needed repairs that, since the warranty had expired, would cost $330. Wondering what the difference was between what I had bought as a hearing aid and what was being advertised as “hearing devices”, I began reading device reviews and soon realized my concerns were more than shared.I finally settled on the ZVOX VB20 and bought two, one for each ear, at a price close to what the repair on my one hearing aid would have cost. After about two week’s usage, I could not be more satisfied: the reasons are as follows:The voicebud app allows one to set the volume controls independently, for each ear, without touching the device; very convenient. Independent bass and treble settings allow adjusting for the most natural(comfortable?) sound.The devices come with an assortment of domes, both open and closed, and the manual has a very clear discussion on the pros and cons of which to choose. Having previously tried both open and closed domes of various sizes, I cannot stress enough how important it is to make the correct choice, both for comfort and for hearing; try living with each type for at least a week before settling on a permanent one.The battery level indicator is a nice feature; it confirms the audible low level warning. Battery life seems about the same as my previous hearing aids; 3-4 days with continuous daytime use.The Noiseblocker two microphone feature is a considerable improvement over what I was using. However, there is a limit as to what can be achieved in noisy environments; if possible, try to avoid rooms with live acoustics….I prefer these to what I originally bought through the audiologist. There may be more bells and whistles available at a higher cost, but these are an unbeatable first choice at the price.

UPDATED REVIEW: Right after I wrote this review, it started producing a steady background tone. Before I had a chance to call support, it stopped. I believe it may have been caused by high humidity (over 90%) at that time. Two days later it was and has been perfect! Battery level feature in control app is useless. Mine shows plenty of battery left after four days, just before the low battery alert activates! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Arrived promptly as promised. Well packaged with good easy to understand instructions. Physical quality is better than I expected ... and it really works! It only took a few minutes to read the manual and start hearing again. The app functions acceptably ... is easy to use, but does crash. The tone control and battery indicator need the app, but the volume and mode controls are physically on the device and easy enough to use. I set the tone controls for the best sound quality and haven't needed to change them since. After two days use, I still have over 90% battery life left. The most amazing thing, however, is the noise reduction feature. Four selectable modes allows you to easily select the level of background noise reduction needed. Today, my wife and I were eating lunch outside on a patio alongside a busy street. I was able to select a mode (4) which greatly reduced the background traffic noise and allowed me to actually hear her voice as we ate. Now I do have one problem ... I have to start paying attention to what she says now!

When I first used the product I liked it and thought it was very good. I have had hearing aids that cost 10 times more that were less satisfactory. Unfortunately, today it just quit working. No matter what I tried it just squealed. I have returned it.

A few months ago I did a trial for 30 days with a set of $8,000 hearing aids from a well-known national provider who had an extremely high-pressure pitch. I returned these because it seemed like an exorbitant amount of money. and I was disgusted with the hard-sell. Then a friend told me he was using ZVOX ear buds, and that they were exactly like high priced hearing aids sold via audiologists. I decided to give them a try. I have been using tmy two ZVOX buds for just over a week and could not be happier. They do everything the $8,000 set did. but for $7500 less. If you have been diagnosed with a hearing loss ( an audiologist told me my loss was moderate but still significant), you owe it to yourself to try this wonderful product.

I have moderate hearing loss and have been using various sound amplifiers for over 10 years, long before FDA allowed the makers to call them hearing aids (which they in fact are). The ZVOX VoiceBuds (I use two of them) are the best by far. is an excellent alternative to hearing aids costing far more. They're relatively inexpensive, provide excellent amplification, and are practically invisible -- even for someone like me who shaves his head. The Bluetooth connection, which allows tuning on a smartphone is an especially nice feature. The company is responsive to inquiries and helpful to its customers. All in all, I'd recommend it highly.

No cubrió mis expectativas

The ability of the Zvox VoiceBuds to variably filter out noise is excellent. This produce is superior to many conventional hearing aids. I really don't mind the small units behind my ears. It is astonishing to find such excellent audio for such a low price, much cheaper than any typical hearing aids.

These hearing aids replaced a $5,000 pair and I can hear better with these!
