I think the door way rather small

My only disappointment was that the lid did not come off or the opening wasn't larger! If like me you find a hibernating hedgehog and need to put it safely in a house, I could not get my hedgehog in!

Love this log cabin style wooden house. I will use it as a feeding station and put it next to my other hedgehog home, which now has two hedgehogs using it ( despite it being empty for about 10 years!). The house is sturdy, well made and the design is fit for purpose. I like the way there is a small wall of wood, about 13 cms from the small hedgehog entrance which should keep the cats out but allow the hedgehogs to walk around it. The back end has the slightly larger, latched door which you can use to pop a couple of dishes in.

To be fair, the seller/manufacture hasn't actively duped prospective Amazon buyers by posting misleading pictures, or making deceptive claims in respect to their wares, but, and upon receipt of goods, I certainly don't consider this item as being good value for money - not even close.The roof slats are stapled to the gable ends and general construction quality is wholly underwhelming throughout. The cheap softwood used in its construction isn't close to joinery grade softwood, and if half the time that's been obviously spent on torching the timber, in order to enhance grain patterns, was more gainfully employed to elevate build quality...... well, this hedgehog house would be immeasurably better off for it.Were this priced between £20-25, then I'd consider my purchase a fair and equitable exchange, but at over £50, I'm sorry to say I just feel annoyed with myself for not looking at the pictures more closely before buying this.In respect to functionality:Will this function as a hedgehog house - yes. Will it remain waterproof/rot free/structurally sound for more than 12 months - it's exceptionally unlikely!

As a feeding station. Cant honestly report on the success of the item though as weather has been atrocious since receiving it and even though have placed wet and dry hedgehog food inside, it is untouched :(

Looks grand but a section of the roof came apart while it was being moved. Not very sturdy but I have partially repaired it again with glue. But having said that the hedgehogs do visit it nighty for their food and it prevents local cats eating what we put out.

What a great little house!I recently gave this to my mother for her birthday. She was delighted.The house is well made and of good quality. It will last many years in the garden, whether or not it attracts any hedgehogs!
