Great alternative to the stock 60 amp alternator in my ‘72 Ford Galaxie 500 400cid. I love everything about it when it’s about it’s output. Strong, steady 14.5 volts at idle. 13.7 volts with everything electric in the car on, and the air conditioning. Perfect, except be warned…the tolerance of the pivot bolt hole, and the threads of the lockdown bolt hole had to be reworked. Didn’t realize it until I tried to install…twice.DO NOT disregard the tag for adding a ground from the alternator. The EMF without it can cause some weirdness with electronic ignition within the ground.Also, powder coating isn’t very tough. Easy to damage, lightest powder coat I’ve ever seen.Nonetheless, it does it’s job well. Runs all my led lights, all four headlights are led also. No voltage drop at all. Although I have developed a weird a/c anomaly. It will shut off on its own, and the fuel gauge. After a few minutes it resets, and works fine. I think a pressure switch is faulty, maybe the added additional available current did something, don’t know.If you’re looking for a high output alternator for your old whip, drop one of these in, you’ll be happy.

After a long winter of upgrading my "want to be" race car, the factory alternator couldnt handle the added burden. Now, to give it credit, the car is an '80 Mustang with a nearly as old alternator....30+ years is a good life....anyway, now with 2 electric fuel pumps, an electric water pump, an electric fan, an MSD Ignition and a new FITECH fuel injection.....the old girl needed to be replaced. Got this bad boy in on Thursday. Got home around 4:10pm and had it and the battery all installed and the car running by 5pm....1 wire is soooooo nice. Couldn't be happier...oh, looks good too.

This is a great Hybrid Alternator from Tuff stuff. The black powder coating looks good and is very durable. I get 14.30V at a 900rpm idle and I love the look of the fan and bullet tip pulley. Just 1 power wire and 1 ground wire hookup. Delivery was super quick and packed well.

Such an amazing alt so far. Easy to convert to 3 wire.
