Solid, sharp, quality secateurs! Gives Felco a run for the (less) money!
As a long-time Felco aficionado, I never felt the need or desire to buy shears of another brand. Suffering through a long, white New England winter, I sought to elevate my mood by getting things ready for the spring. While searching for ‘the new thing’, I came upon these Joseph Bentley secateurs. I liked the looks of them, the wooden handles, as well as the angle and wrist alignment. So, I thought I’d give it a try. Well, the secateurs I just received did not disappoint. I put them to the test straightaway. They’re sturdy, relatively weighty (which I like), and indeed feel good in my (medium-sized) hand. The blades, similarly solid, are sharp. They cut effortlessly, accurately and smoothly. The resulting slice is neat. The spring definitely offers the right resistance. I look forward to using the Joseph Bentley secateurs while lost in tangled and overgrown bushes requiring spring pruning. At a price of $25.00, the quality / price ratio is without question more than satisfactory.

Joseph Bentley products are mis-represented
Do not buy Joseph Bentley tools. Although this product claims to be covered by a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" neither Amazon nor Joseph Bentley will provide the terms of the coverage. I find this to be deceptive and misleading and have no belief that there would be any support in the case of product failure. I will be returning all of my purchases.

I loved these
As the head of horticulture at a private estate I need a pair of pruners that hold an edge and don't hurt my wrists. I picked these up on a whim as I loved the look of the wood handles.I have never really used ergonomic handles before, and I love these. They have shock absorption in the handle, which is great and just as effective as the absorbers on the Felco #2. The latch took a bit of working before it really came on and off easily. The edge of the blade has held up pretty well, better than Fiskers though may be not quite as well as a Bahco, but its a lot less expensive than Bahco. The one real knock I have in my mind it that the blade only opens to a .75" cutting opening, I have not purchased pruners with less than an 1" cutting width before. Despite this I have not noticed any branches or dead wood that I could cut before but can no longer.I removed a star from my original post due to the fact that the blade is not removable. You can take apart the pruners to just the blade attached to a handle but no further. This allows them to be sharpened, but eventually you will need to purchase new pruners.I highly recommend the ergonomic handles, before I switched to these my wrists constantly hurt, but I have not had that issue since switching handle designs. Even if you don't try this pair, I would highly recommend finding an ergonomic pair.

I love this tool
Well, It is the end of the growing season in Western New York and time to cut down all the tomato & pepper plants. My old ones were all rusted up so I decided to give these a try because of the angle on the cutter. I love this tool, so much that I am going to order a pair for my wife as she tends the flower garden and I know already by the way she keeps bowering mine she will love them.Excellent !!!!!

and nicely designed. It took a little while to "retrain" ...
Well made, and nicely designed. It took a little while to "retrain" my eye-hand coordination to the ergonomic design, the twig not being in the place expected after using straight nosed shears for so many years. Haven't had to sharpen it yet, couldn't be happier.Worn to town in conjunction with a nice pair of green bibs; the city folks at the farm store will step aside... then start following you.

You get what you pay for !
Expensive = YesMade in UK = Yes (Sheffield)Made to last = YesWill it out last you ? = LikelyI am a cheapskate... but when it comes to tools i will use time and time again, i understand that it pays to get a quality product. In reality these products are a similar price to products from the East, certainly better quality and i am very pleased to see some one in England making good products and keeping local people employed.Really nice secateurs. I was a little skeptical about the shape (being more used to straight secateurs) but having pruned the roses i like these. They cut well and are built to last.

Joseph Bentley secateurs
Good looking secateurs but the first time I used them the blades crossed one another and caught. I returned them. I have to say though that the return process was incredibly easy and efficient!

...5 days ...and it was broken... I live in Denmark, and need to have products that work
I used the product a 2-3 times... and the knives were destroyed .... and since there is no dealer in Denmark, it is impossible to change the product, unless I pay a lot in transport
