GarnierFructis Style Curl Treat Hydrating Butter for Normal to Coarse Curly Hair, 10.5 Ounce Jar

I have been using the curl treats smoothie and butter for about 3 years now and I absolutely love it! My curls are super defined and very hydrated whenever I use them. If you use too much, it can feel really heavy in your hair so be careful not to add too much. They smell very light and fruity and are not crunchy at all. It completely gets rid of my frizz, as long as I add the right amount. I use the smoothie (it's a bit lighter than the butter) on the middle portion of my hair (not the roots and not the ends, but in the middle) and I use the butter on the ends and it leaves my hair looking gorgeous.

I purchased this because Melanin twisting elongating cream was sold out by Naptural85. The Garnier product is heavy. I used it on my 1 year old's hair. She has type 4b hair that is on the curlier side. It curls right up when water touches it so the butter helps to stretch her hair.It is very moisturizing and has a light scent.I also used on it my niece's 4c hair with ecostyler and jbco on the ends. A little goes a long way. This will likely be a staple product because it is substantially cheaper that Melanin. I would say it works on multiple hair types. I would suggest using less on loose hair and more on coarse hair. It is a hair butter so it will weigh your hair down. I haven't used it on dry hair yet except when moisturizing my daughters ends.I played around with it on my nieces hair and shingled it and it wasn't well defined so I wouldn't use it as a wash and go product for her texture.*The hair types mentioned above is a point of reference to help consumers.

This prep duct works great on my curly hair. I only use a small amount along with the Garnier smoothie cream. I used to use the garnish jelly as well but they no longer make it. I would say this product is good for curly hair and add small amounts.

After watching a few curly hair tutorials of the new Garnier Fructis Curl Treat products, I decided to try one of them. I have 3A/2C (caucasian) hair and for the last few years I’ve used DevaCurl products. I absolutely love DevaCurl, but I’ve heard a lot of bad things about them lately, so I’m trying out a variety of different curly products at different price ranges. I tried the Garnier Fructis Hydrating Butter because I prefer more natural looking curls, and even though my hair is normal-to-thin texture, I prefer thicker creams because I have a lot of hair. First off, I actually like the smell. It has a light almond smell to me and it isn’t overpowering or unpleasant. The consistency of the product is thick and creamy, but not sticky or too oily. I applied a small amount to my wet hair, let it air dry for a bit, and finished my hair with a diffuser (upside down for lift). The overall outcome was okay. My curls are defined and soft, and I don’t have any frizz. It doesn’t look greasy or weighed down. I just think it needs a little more hold and lift though. Some people are pairing this with the Curl Treat Shaping Jelly to obtain the hold, so I might try that next (even though I’m not a fan of gels). Overall a decent product for the price.

Item was what I had anticipated and was glad to see it was exactly as described.. It was sealed with plastic wrap and arrived within 2 days of the order.

Where has this been alllll my life? Those bad hair days were such a pain. I have very thick, heavy 3c/4a type curly hair. My hair would suck everything up and look dry again unless I use something with petroleum or mineral oil, but for years I've avoided these products because of a link to breast cancer. Other sworn-by brands came under lawsuits so I couldn't try those. So my quest went on to find a nice non-greasy product with a scent that doesn't give me migraines. Lo and behold I decided to give this a try. I have a whole pile of products that I can give away now, because this appears to be all I'll need as my daily moisturizer/refresher. My hair stays moist and holds the curls up to three days later. I still can't believe how well this formula works and how come I've never seen any other like it, apart from those with petroleum. I bought this with the Maui deep conditioner intending for this to fail and the Maui to be my new love, but honestly haven't tried that yet because I'm so in love with this right now. Will post that review when I use it.
