CraghoppersWomen's Kiwi Pro Convertible Trousers

Not what they used to be. Kiwis seem to have fallen off the cliff of a sudden ! or a slippery slope at least.
I was very disappointed when I received these Craghopper Kiwi trousers. I have 7 pairs already and they have always been good, well made and of a decent quality material, and fairly hard wearing. This pair are definitely no where near as good, being flimsy and a much poorer cut and fit. I almost thought they might be fake. All my previous Kiwis were made in China as were these, so I can only guess that Craghopper have changed the material, the makers or whatever , for a cheaper poorer quality item. I usually pay about 30 to 35 for Kiwis and I'm glad I only paid 15 for these as they are not worth more. Sadly I think these will be the last pair of Kiwis and I'll start looking around for a similar Trouser of much better qualityPS. December 2016. I've changed my tune a bit since I wrote the above , as they are not quite so inferior as I at first thought. They are not so qualititious, is that a word ? , as the previous Kiwis, but are comfortable not wearing too bad after all. I bumped the Stars up to 3.75.I am quite fond of them now.

If you like the Classic Kiwi, don't "upgrade" to the Kiwi Pro.., it's a different product entirely.
My wife recommended them but the reviews put me off. So I tried some on at the shops. The "Terrain" were uncomfortably tight in the thigh etc. The "Kiwi Pro" were a stretch fabric (okay if you're used to wearing lycra I guess) but the "Classic Kiwi" were just fine.A comfortable lightweight pair of walking trousers, sensibly designed with 2 front pockets, 2 further front zip pockets, 1 large thigh pocket and 2 back pockets (which zip close outwards, so you don't sit on the zip fastener.)At £17 I'll certainly have another pair...True to my word, they were advertised again at £14 and I did buy a second pair, these came without a belt.., but I already have one! Excellent value, very comfortable.Edit (30/04/16) I had to knock a star off.., the two zip pockets just aren't secure, they burst open. I'd rather the money was spent on one pocket that would guarantee my car keys were still there when I got back from a walk.

Ideal Activity Trouser with Lots of Pockets
These trousers fitted perfectly. I am a 34 waist / 31 leg and the 34 regular was the right size. They are ideal activity trousers. Lighter weight material than ones I bought several years ago but they still have all the pockets, many of them zipped, including a thigh pocket large enough to take an OS map.I bought one pair of these trousers and a pair from another well known manufacturer of activity trousers. The ‘other trousers’ were returned because they no longer had as many pockets, nor a map sized thigh pocket. I replaced them with a 2nd pair of Craghoppers - slightly more expensive but far more useful

Not as comfortable as the old style
Almost the same kiwis I bought years ago. Good changes - heal tabs, cargo pocket zip to the front, phone pocket larger, belt tabs single and a little wider.Bad changes, no light grey any more but the black pepper I ordered will do.The worst change is the fit. I immediately noticed the trousers were tighter around the thighs and comparing them to my older kiwis they are about 4cm slimmer in that area.

Quality control having a kip
Pity but stitching coming undone in two places already. Maiden voyage to the cinema hardly what I'd call putting them through their paces! I'm a fan of craghoppers over the years and only replace those pairs that are beyond salvation. So unfortunately I am left disappointed with my purchase. Quality control asleep on the job it seems! These are the newer model with cargo pocket zip at the front. A shame and annoying but I'll just have to get sewing. Craghoppers were always great quality at a great price. Price is still great but quality regrettably not so.

Good value casual trousers.
These pair are an improvement on a pair I bought several years ago. (Around 5 years). The waist button is better fit the belt clasp feels more secure and best of all the hand pockets have been made a bit bigger so you can actually get your hand in, unlike the last pair where you hardly could and coins would always fall out when you sat down. So overall much better.

Just aren't waterproof.
Bought these in August last year. First out in moderate rain today and after an hour under-trousers utterly sodden. Ingress mostly thru front of thighs. Reckon blotting paper would have worked better. Presumably these are made in China and this particular item a Friday afternoon build. No joy for me though. But never again Craghoppers for me.

Absolutely love these trousers
Absolutely love these trousers! They're extremely comfortable, fit perfectly, are versatile, practical, and are generally very well made. The only problem I have had is that a small hole is developing in the thigh pocket where the stitching has slightly come undone (fixable of course), but then I put sharp tools in that pocket from time to time so that is probably what did it. I like how there are two hip pockets on either side (one with the zip fastening which I use to keep coins and things that might easily fall out). I even bought the winter version of these which are also fantastic (basically the same but with a soft and warm lining)! I would definitely recommend these for walkers, hikers, and if you don't need to be formal and like to carry things in your pockets every day in comfort... for anyone!
