Nice product.. lots of people complained about complications in installation but it took only 10 minutes for me. It's easy just follow the instructions correctly or else search on YouTube.. you can search using the model number.

Please don't buy this. I was fooled by all the reviews over internet. This thing is extremely hard to configure. After so much time and effort some how I was able to reach the configuration window. I tried to set the device as a universal repeater. I did everything as per the instruction. Tried using both the existing SSID name and a new one. After reboot the new SSID is showing but once you connect its showing limited connectivity. Tried at least 15 times,did hard reset still same result. I am planning to return the device and demand a full refund. From my experience I think I should claim for compensation for wasting my time and effort.UPDATEFinally..after a night of sleep deprivation, I solved the mystery. Always use the same network security settings as those for the existing network. Keep that checked. At the time of configuration, change your computer/ipad/any device ip address to 192.168.1.3. Now the device is working, but its hard to configure and works only in the way the repeater intends..Dont change any settings in the configuration window after setup, you will need a hard reset after that and start from step 1 again..

Its a great product. I had a tough time getting wifi signals to our bedrooms. Now, its everywhere... including bathrooms ;-) I found a little difficulty in setting this up. In that perspective, the user manual, though having picture, can be made more meaningful. I found it a little confusing. This certainly is not a negative, but a good to have. I set this up couple of days back, and now I have non-stop wifi access at all corners of my (reasonably big 2 floored) house. This is an excellent item!!.

The extender is easy to set-up and it also doesn't affects the speed or ping of your actual wifi.

Product is working fine. Good quality. But difficult to set up by a normal person. Instructions are not clear. Had to go to Internet and search and then was able to set it up.

Nous voulions un réseau supplémentaire, car notre routeur était au sous sol. Donc notre connexion n'était pas stable en haut. Donc achat du ZyXel, que nous connaissons, nous sommes chez Vidéotron. Installation très simple, et mis en place de l'application qui permet la gestion du réseau. Très pratique et fonctionnel.Une dernière chose normalement ce produit est à mettre dans le garage au plafond, nous nous l'avons mis dans notre bureau et sur le bureau. Il fonctionne parfaitement et sur une longue distance.Très bon produit.

Mi serviva un access point che potesse farmi anche da switch...il tutto con porte gigabit: questo era il miglior compromesso qualità prezzo e così l'ho acquistato.Le recensioni qua su Amazon erano un po' contradditorie e quando mi è arrivato a casa ero un po' scettico perchè inizialmente faticavo ad entrare nel menù per configurarlo come switch/access point: il CD autoconfigurante si bloccava continuamente e stavo pensando di renderlo.A forza di provare sono entrato manualmente nelle impostazioni e ho configurato la mia rete (lo uso in taverna dove ho un pc e necessito di copertura wi-fi che diversamente sarebbe assente) e ora lo Zyxel mi da soddisfazioni: stabile (mai una disconnessione), non scalda, con una wi-fi davvero potente disattivabile con un pulsante fisico, funzione eco green di risparmio energetico, switch molto valido a livello prestazionale (nel pingtest non perde praticamente nulla rispetto al collegamento diretto del PC al modem principale).Anche i menù del router ora sono comodi, completi, personalizzabili (molto meglio del modem in mio possesso)...il tutto con porte Gigabit che mi ha permesso di creare la mia rete casalinga a 1Gigabit ...mi sento perciò di consigliarlo a tutti se si cerca un prodotto solido, senza pretese esagerate (niente wi-fi su 2 canali e niente segnale ac, così come non ha tecnologia Ipv6 già inclusa) ma che svolge egregiamente il suo lavoro senza tentennamenti e con robustezza e qualità di erogazione della rete.Oltretutto è piccolissimo e ha anche 2 porte usb sul lato dove poter collegare stampanti, HDD, etc....cosa volete di più? Per il prezzo proposto è un affare!

Zyxel una volta una delle mie ditte preferite, adesso .... lasciamo perdere.Già di primo impatto non si presenta molto bene: tutta plasticaccia. Va beh, peccato si sia adeguata al ribasso del mercato.Mi aspettavo di più però dal servizio post vendita, sia della casa madre che di Zyxel Italia.Il motivo è presto detto: utilizzato come Access Point WiFi, in caso di mancanza di energia elettrica (volontaria o involontaria), al successivo riavvio, l'apparato crea e lascia incredibilmente aperta una connessione WiFi.Segnalato il problema al 25/09/2014, sono ancora in attesa di una modifica del firmware da parte della casa madre.In conclusione, ho preso lo Zyxel e l'ho buttato via.

I bought this router primarily because I needed the IPSec VPN capability. The unit could be very good - but the firmware is a bit flakey, particularly if you are fiddling with IPSec VPNs. It can easily get hung and need a reboot. In fairness, once you get if configured it does seem quite stable.The IPSec has undocumented limitations - for instance, no AES (just DES and 3DES). Also, you can only create a single tunnel to a particular endpoint. This proved to be very inconvenient for me and I had to be very clever to work around the limitation. I reported the bug to the vendor who confirmed the problem - but didn't offer any solution except to suggest I should buy one of their commercial models.The dual 2.4/5.0 GHz wi-fi is nice, but for some reason it was never stable with my portable devices (phones and tablets).I really think that Zyxel could polish this device up if they wanted, but it doesn't seem that the will is there
