Upgrade over my $35 air chisel
I have been using a cheap kolbalt branded air chisel for years now.I found these to be awesome when used with a cheap harbor freight pickle fork when doing suspension work. The old chisel worked good enough for the most part, but having a longer hammer stroke sure does make things quicker.I still found it helpful to have the old tool next to me with a hammer/blunt ended bit to help it free a stubborn ball joint.Only complaint is that I wish this hit a little harder, but i might just need more practice with it.

Spring Broke 1st use
I bought this a while ago and used it for the first time yesterday. I used a chisel and the spring broke almost immediately. It's pretty much useless now. I would like a replacement spring. Maybe it was just defective, I don't know.

Used it and happy.
It worked flawless in the automotive environmental I employed it in. Knocked out wheel studs and suspension components with ease.

Lot to like on this unit, but ......
I only gave it 4 stars because I have not used it enought. It seems like it might be a little weak on the sturdiness side.

Decent short air hammer with low air needs. Used for light riveting
Rewritten review: I had some problems getting it to work, which boiled down to the spring being too tight and unable to fully secure the chisel bits. So, the too-tight spring is on Sunex for sure. I got a replacement with the same issue. Five bucks got me two more generic that thread easily and got the hammer working.I used it for riveting my aluminum boat repairs. It's nice because it has the adjustable dial on the hammer, and I didn't want a giant hammer punching way too hard for 3/16" rivets. Works great for this once I got the spring situation sorted.

No complaints so far, great for auto repair.
Great tool at a even greater price.. Saw same tool branded different at much higher price.. This one with a better finish.. As performance I can only talk about this one and is not bad at all. Not a SnapOn but better what you would find at your local tool chain stores!

does what it says
This thing descaled an entire Jeep frame and is constantly being used for cleaning rust from rusty things. The only problem is that sometimes it doesn't start at higher pressures and just blows through, but a quick second press or a small adjustment to the air flow and it's off to the races. (always oil it!)Good little workhorse, probably won't last 20 years though.

Works great until it breaks
Product works great, I did the rear frame of my truck quickly and efficiently. However after a few days of use even after lubing the tool after every use the trigger broke. If you look at the picture you'll see the triggers make from plastic and where the trigger attaches to the tool is extremely thin.

Not very strong
Doesn't seem to be very strong unfortunately, used it a few times to remove wheel hub/bearing assemblies on cars and it took very long to get things moving. It's not worth it for any professional mechanic but maybe if you have a compressor at home and want an air hammer to use once it a while it could be worth it, but I would really recommend just spending the extra money and getting one from snap-on, mac tools etc. Or even a .498 shank air hammer from aircat or astro.

Not enough punch
This is not a heavy duty unit for auto shop Mechanic. Struggles removing wheel bearings and drive axles.
