Wasn't sure, but happy now that I got them
I hesitated to buy these partly because there were 10. I did not need 10. Got these today, they are smaller than I had imagined, though they are exactly what they say they are. They nest nicely so easy to store all 10 and honestly I can see a lot of uses for these beyond pie. They would be great for salsa, each person could have their own bowl. Or for meal prep, to hold measured ingredients so you just dump them in as you cook. Like the TV chefs do. They would be great for any dipping sauces. Desert servings. Toppings for fajitas and so on.The quality is very nice, not lightweight or flimsy, but not so heavy and chunky they are overdone. They do have a nice lip on them to hold your pie crust. I am happy that I got them, I see a lot of uses for them.Non kitchen uses, could be potpourri, or candle dish, or change tray, car keys catcher etc.

Love these little guys!
I'm stingy giving 5 star ratings but these little pie plates are definitely deserving! I love these little guys and use them frequently. Great for tapas, snacks, measured ingredients for recipes, mixing spices and, oh yeah, little pies.Like another reviewer I thought a set of 10 was more than I would ever need but given all its uses the set of 10 works great for me. They nest together much better than the ramekins I have and take up less space in the cabinet. They freeze and reheat well. It's nice to have a couple of Pot Pies and Mini Fruit Pies in the freezer ready for a quick fix. Not sure if you can go directly from freezer to oven - I'm a little cautious about quick temperature changes for glass - so I allow them to thaw a bit before putting them in a hot oven.If you're looking for a handy little dish or want to make Mini Pies you may be as pleased with this product as I am. Enjoy!

A little small, but useful for one serving
These are little smaller than I was hoping for, the measurement includes the lip on the plate, so the inside is 4 1/8". They are smaller than the size of cheap frozen pot pies.I have used these for pot pies and quiches, worked out great!Just last weekend an elderly friend gave me some old metal tiny pie plates, they are a little bigger than the glass, About the same across the top, but deeper. If you want pies the size of the frozen ones, I would try the metal pans, but if you want easy to wash and microwave, go for these!I needed to double my two crust recipe to have enough for one crust for each pie, I made a double batch of quiche and needed 12 plates (I used some metal ones). I have not tried dessert pies in these yet, but I will as winter sets in...

Love the size of this dishes
Perfect size for making pies and desserts. One of my children likes apple pies, the other likes chocolate and still the other likes pumpkin. This allows me to make a pie for each of them and not have too much left over.

Great size
I had my eye on these at JoAnn Fabrics for over a year before they stopped carrying them. When I finally broke down and bought them on amazon, I was so very pleased. It takes a little practice to master filling smaller pies, but a standard pie recipe makes ~3-4 of these little pies. I loved being able to put different designs on each pie. We have a family of 2 and one is a good sharing size or "just right" for my husband's pie appetite. It's also a great size for sharing pie with our single neighbor. They are a little on the shallow side, but made perfect apple pies.

Boy, these are small.
I read the description, pulled out my ruler, and thought these would be big enough for mini dessert pies. They’re really cute, so I wanted them to work. But when I saw them, I realized two problems: one, they include the rim in the measurement, so they’re even tinier than the measurement suggests. Two, they’re really, really shallow. That means you’re making a pie that’s all crust and no filling. That’s not what I’m after; I guess I need small, deep tart pans from a bakery supply store instead.I was shocked by how expensive these were, too; still, they were the only ones available in a style reminiscent of my collection of Pyrex pie plates. Cute as anything, but too small to make the kinds of dessert I want to. I think my friends would be really bummed if I offered them such a tiny portion!

Perfect Cat Dish; Highly Durable
Mini-Pies? We use the as cat dishes -- perfect size, depth, and material for that purpose. Then after meals they are on the floor and, because they are glass, we don't see them. We've kicked these into walls, into each other, even down wood stairs onto a concrete (with Vinyl Composition Tile) basement floor, they have not chipped or broken. They are washed daily here and hold up fine in the dishwasher on the super hot Sanitize setting. If these had a blue tint so we could see them better I'd add extra credit to my rating.
