Cecilio CVN-White Ebony Fitted Solid Wood Violin with Tuner and Lesson Book - Metallic White, Size 4/4 (Full Size)

So I have some cash to spend on a new hobby. Lets learn the violin. Lets go cheap, possibly ironically tacky just to be funny, Not too cheap cause you still want to play the instrument. I get it and the first things i notice is the smell of the box, paint. Factory didn't even wipe the instrument down still reeks of paint and has so much powder on it. Then the minor aesthetic damage. I bought a tacky painted wood instrument for the look not for the great sound. What is the point if the WHITE body has mismatching shades of white and corners of grey and black from drops and rough handling.Seriously all these reviews saying this has a great sound are wrong. The sound is mediocre, it's a painted wooded instrument for goodness sake. The wood is devilishly cheap and almost feels like you were ripped off, then you remembered that you payed only $100. Pegs have some trouble staying but nothing major. Strings are cheap, rosin is cheap, bows are cheap. Quality is cheap across the board. Any reviewer that says it sounds great is wrong. They just bought something tacky that they can play with.2 stars cause it works. It tunes. Its a decent package. I can learn and look delightfully ironic/tacky with my friends. I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend. This is a borderline toy. It still fulfilled my purpose as a purchase but not my standards as a musician. If they only fixed the little problems the review would be much higher but I got a questionable product that I am starting to regret.THIS DOESN't HOLD A TUNE!

For $110 it's a deal of a package. Violin body appears good but can't tell with all the paint. Neck looks good. Fingerboard is in good condition but bleeds a black color onto my hands, fingers, and the side of the violin neck. Added peg drop compound for smoother tuning and minimize slips. Sound seems to be slightly dampened by the thick paint. Paint job is thick and appears to be collecting on the edges and corners if you look closely but could just be paint bulge due to excessive glue. Tuner works best with a clip on pickup. Bow, bridge, strings, rosin are all useable. Shoulder rest is trash best to get a shoulder rest that contours to your body. Case is usable. I did not get a lesson book/CD with my package so I don't know if it's any good. It's a good starter/beater package for the price to get your feet wet. I personally would recommend a hand crafted hand varnished violin or a Violin DIY kit to assemble and varnish yourself.

The instrument sounds amazing and i am having a ton of fun playing it. The few complaints i have are the paint job; there is a lot of build up of paint in the nooks and cranny's of the instrument, mostly around the neck, making it rather ugly when u really look at it up close. I am not disappointed in the purchase ( Great price ) but i am a little disheartened with the paint job.

The back side of this violin, has unfinished paint! Looks stupid. The handle on the back side (opposite the strings) is wood, and the rest of it is painted white. I dont what's going on with this, but this is clearly a mistake. I didnt notice it at first. I was being careful handling my new instrument, and did not place it upside down, on it's strings. But I found the spoof today. Very wierd. I fell in love with this little instrument, but am unsure about the spoof. I will try to work with the seller on this one. :)

OK HERE'S WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT, IVE BEEN PLAYING AND MESSING WITH ALL KINDS OF INSTRUMENTS FOR YEARS, SO I KNOW A GOOD INSTRUMENT FROM A BAD ONE, THIS CECILIO VIOLIN ITS ACTUALLY WELL MADE, BUT.....THE ACCESSORIES IT COMES WITH ARENT. LOL AS FAR AS THE INSTRUMENT PART ITS ALL GOOD, THIS IS A GOOD LITTLE CHEAP STARTER KIT, HOWS IT ? IT PLAYS GOOD WITH BETTER STRINGS

This violin is a good quality for students or new begginers. It comes in a very nice case with a cover for the violin, two hand carrying grips and even adjustable straps for backpack style traveling. The rosin is not cheap and cracked and comes with a very nice little towelet to hold it in while you rosin your bow (so you don't get residue on your fingers). The bridge comes pre-positioned and the auto-tuner/metronome is very simple and easy to use. The shoulder rest is very comfortable and easy to place. As a nice surprise it even included a polishing cloth for removing residue and dirtiness from the violin's varnish. Great value, I personally want it in three more colors.

I am a new player and after checking out reviews on this manufacture I went with this package. I was impressed with how quickly it arrived and how carefully packed it was.I am pleased with everything but the book (which isn't produced by the same company.) I found the book of little help and had to use YouTube for better instructions.A friend of mine, who has been playing for many years, put my violin through its paces and was surprised at how well it sounded for as inexpensive as it was.

It did come on time, and it seemed to include everything - however when I assembled it I ran into a broken bridge... and the spare included in the set was also broken. It has been several months and I am still looking for a new bridge.

Came in a nice box and case with included accessories. However the colour painted on the back of the neck was not that great. I know on the picture it doesn't show it being painted at all but I would have preferred that over one that was half spray painted.. All in all, it was great for the price.

Quite a cheap violin. ALWAYS has to be tuned.Wouldn’t buy again. Very cheap.
