Starting to have a problem.
I used this umbrella 3 or 4 times without incident, although I wouldn't go indoors and leave it alone due to the parasol portion swaying in the wind, but now I'm having trouble cranking it down. It's so bad that I'm afraid to put it up again for fear I may not be able to lower it and have a dangerous situation if a wind comes up. I've contacted the vendor and I still have the box. I'll come back and update after I hear from the vendor. It's still within the short, 30 day warranty period. Maybe that was a hint.edit 2 days later: Vendor refunded my money, courteously and promptly. I don't think I'll buy another one. It's beautiful, but nowhere near as stable as a table umbrella.

I like the color and it looked great with the patio furniture. It lasted a little longer than a season before the string that runs to the handle for opening and closing ripped.

NBICE FOR THE PRICE
Easy to put together, large and goes up and down with ease. The fabric is not as substantial as I'd like, but It is alright for my use. It does sway some in a litte breeze, so don't leave it up in the wind.

So great I purchased two of em!
Man, normally I won't even try to put something together by myself as I have zero patients for all the pieces. This thing went together in under 10 minutes, YES, it's that simple. I will recommend you get a base for it. For the price, you can't beat it!

So far so good with this
So far so good with this. The installation took some time and definitely required reading the instructions... again and again. They weren't entirely clear. The umbrella is nice and I like how it can be closed and lowered down. I do wish it tilted though. Without that, I can't always keep the sun off the area I want to without moving the location of the umbrella which is cumbersome.

NIce umbrella
Work great. Easy to put up. Still have to figure out a good way to secure the base. Not sure if there is an option for base with water but that may be better than the bricks as they can stick out very far (lots of toe stubbing going on!)

Must buy a weighted base
We tried using pavers to hold this up (as recommended in the assembly instructions) but the umbrella kept tipping over. We'll have to purchase a base if we want to use this again.

an economical soluion
the umbrella is pretty much what I expected. We topped it with the mosquito net and have been enjoying the patio without mosquitoWe have a large population of earwigs and they have no problem getting in. I have just tried some inseciticide around the perimeter, we will see if that helps. In the mean time we do some "bug hunting" and use the earwigs habit of dropping down when disturbed to collect them in a bit of detergent water in an old cup .
