This is my first experience with self inflating mats and I have to admit, I was highly sceptical. In fact the only reason I took the plunge and bought was is Amazon's generous returns policy. I knew if it was useless I could just send it back.I was very pleasantly surprised by this. It was easy enough to inflate and incredibly comfortable . We have not used it camping yet, it was bought for scout camp, but my son has spent an evening watching films on it, and everyone in the family has tried it out. We did need to blow into the valve a few times to fully inflate but my child was able to do this easily. After releasing the valve I was surprised to find this rolled up just as small as it had arrived... all too often these things seem bigger when you go to stuff them back into the bag after use. Now if only the sleeping back were as to stow we would be grand.Personally, I don't much like the blow up pillow, and if I were using this I would leave it flat, and use a real pillow, but then I don't like any inflatable pillow. And to be perfectly honest, no this is not as comfortable as my bed, or even the lovely 8"thick fold out bed I have... But neither of those will fit in a rucksack. Considering the overall weight and size of the item, this is without a doubt the most comfortable mat I have ever found. What a difference between this and the old foam mats. I have recommended this to several friends already, and would not hesitate to purchase another.

I've spent 5 times as much in the past, trekking and camping for 30yrs and this by far the firmest mattress I've ever had. At 6' 2" I'm very comfortable and the pillow is a bonus,

Good product, I purchased this and a sleeping bag for any friends who may visit and want to stay over night (I presently live in a one-bedroomed flat). Easy to inflate but seems to take ages to deflate. Other than that value for money.

Really good and surprisingly comfortable especially since we were sleeping on unlevel ground. I didn't feel any sticks or stones poking through.

A great alternative to those old foam mats which never really did keep out the cold. This is lightweight, compact and very comfortable. I'm not sure about the self inflating part but it only takes a couple of breathes to inflate to a perfect firmness. It isn't like any inflatable mattress you have tried before. Good value.

Surprisingluy comfortable (much better than a semi inflated air mattress!). Would recommend letting half the air out of the pillow

Well worth considering the price, this roll mat can suck up air like a hoover. Much more pleasant then having to self inflate so a big thumbs up from me!The pillow is a little much to deal with if fully inflated, so be careful! I find about 10/11 big blows should be just enough for a comfortable, enjoyable night's sleep.

I bought these for my niece and nephew who weee coming to stay really mega easy to inflate very comfortable (so I'm told) and easily rolled up into the bags and slipped away under the bed. Very impressed
