Really the best deal. Big risk ended with a great relief 🙂
Used the laptop for a while now and I really like it. For the price it's worth it. What kind of usage is mine and what are the wow factors?1. Dropping in professional mails to the clients - chiclet keyboard does well on this part. Watching movies, surfing through the internet.2. Never will you need a mouse - Keypad is a smooth and supportive one.3. Work at night without USB light - Backlit keyboard is wonderful thing to have and has 2 different brightness.4. Processor speed - For this price range. I must say it has the speed, also if it isn't enough then you have additional slot to increase your RAM size.5. Display - Vibrant color and thin Bezel gives appealing look.6. Camera - Could have provided a better camera.7. Sound - Pleasing sound when on speakers since it uses Realtek. If headphones are connected you will be blown with the sound quality, It's Dolby.8. Battery - Quick charge and tiny charger is a plus. Charged it for 15 mins and used for around 2 hours. Has almost 7-8 hours of standby time. For office use you will need to charge it probably once at the afternoons and you are good to go.Have I left something? Please feel free to ask me anything about it.

Lot of Potential. Could be the deal of the year Laptop. But Poor Quality from Lenovo.
If you are looking for a cheap laptop with basic use then this probably the reason you are here. My experience could have got this laptop a 5 star rating but Lenovo can't live up to the potential.First of all this laptop offers a really good deal. Ill give you a few Pros First:1. Great CPU. This i3-8130U is basically a 7th Gen i5. On a stress test the heatsink can keep both cores at 3400MHz Turbo at around 75C ( 30C ambient ). Fans do get loud but virtually silent when not stress testing.2. There is an extra slot for Ram which can be upgraded to a maximum of 12GB. Con for this later.3. Has an M.2 NVMe slot. Haven't tried this but I think a PCIe SSD is supported according to the hardware manual. NOT SURE IF SATA M.2 are supported so you will have to experiment with this.4. Charger is portable and handly.5. Screen is gorgeous at this price. (More on that later).6. Battery Life will be pathetic at 3-4 hours on the included 1TB 5400RPM drive. TBH thats kinda expected. The battery is only 2 cell so its kinda low for 1080p panel. But the problem is not just the battery. A sata SSD will be something that will keep your system usage low so make sure you upgrade the HDD to SSD before calling its battery life pathetic. You will get around 5-6hrs with light to moderate usage then which is actually fine for a laptop in this price range. They could have dropped the HDD, saved some space for bigger battery and put a 3cell battery which would have given it good battery life.7. Trackpad keyboard are great. Better than any budget laptop. Trackpad is windows precision.8. Linux didnt have issues if you are on a relatively newer kernel (18.04 was tested) and you may have to deal with a few things. But the fact that booting all hardware works OOB is actually a great thing.9. Finally this is a very basic laptop but with a lot of potential for something who doesnt immediately want to spend 50k on a laptop and gradually upgrade things (get a NVMe drive, upgrade to SSD if out of budget, add RAM module eventually ending up with a good system overall)CONS:1. The biggest issue is the Display. While the display is gorgeous, it suffers from backlight bleed like any IPS panel. However how much is acceptable is upto you. Now if you can stand it great. If you can't you are in a world of pain. I was having enough backlight bleed that any movie watching experience would be a problem, which given how good the display is would be pretty common. Now if you want to fix that good luck. LENOVO REFUSES TO HELP WITH BACKLIGHT BLEED. THEY WENT AS FAR AS TRYINGN TO CONVINCE ME IT WAS A FEATURE AND NOT AN ISSUE! The problem is that your next laptop might have an even worse backlight bleed. Its usually a lottery thing. But if you buy from a local store with cash, you can simply refuse to pay that person if it has a prominent display problem or you will have to simply live with it. Currently I am trying to get Amazon or Lenovo to fix this but having trouble with both.2. Now lets assume you got a good display. The RAM is something that could be an issue. 4GB RAM is soldered onto the board. This is a SK HYNIX module that is simply soldered rather than in a slot. I dont know why lenovo would do this because this is going to be an issue when upgrading or if that fails (maybe thats why so that you get a new laptop). You need to have 2 similar modules to have DUAL Channel memory. So you will need to find the exact same module limiting you to 8GB in total which is kinda fine for the processor and if you need more then this laptop is probably not going to cut it. You can put another 8GB module which is the maximum but then you will be limited to single channel. If you put a different memory from a different manufacturer and experience random crashes then no one will be able to help you here. So keep that in mind.3. Battery imo is actually a con here. They could have simply gone with a bigger battery and a 128GB Sata m.2 which costs the same as the 1tb seagate hdd in it and it would have made this laptop a budget laptop deal of the year. I dont know why laptops in 2018 are still sold with an HDD. Windows 10 is a joke with an HDD especially 5400RPM HDDs in laptops. If you are going to use this laptop just put an SSD or dont complain about the laptop being slow. ITS NOT!Overall I came from a 2016 Function Keys MBP which had a huge display backlight issue after a lot of use and this laptop costs less than getting display fixed on that and is also quite faster than the MBP specs wise (the boost on that is 2900MHz on both cores and also still LPDDR3 vs 3400MHz on this and DDR42400). So my expectations were pretty high and if the display didn't have that issue or if lenovo had helped me fix that then I would have been more than impressed. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. The thing is any laptop/phone must have a good display. Any issues with the display will basically mean you have poor experience using the product. Atleast a brand new device shouldn't have such issues.Update 1 : So Amazon Tech support was kind enough to send me a replacement. Guess what! No backlight bleed. Different and probably a worse problem. We customers aren't idiots. This laptop heats up like anything. I cant even stress test it properly anymore. Also I cant hear the fan spin anymore (Its probably dead). Tried BIOS update. Nothing. How can two laptops of the same kind have that much difference brand new. This just shows how poor Lenovo is at QA. Sure its a budget laptop. But the least you can do is assure that two laptops sold to the same customer have at least one working fine.Update 2: Amazon finally took it back for a refund. Most pathetic experience ever. I had high hopes for Lenovo. I've had all brands now HP, Dell, Lenovo. The HP and Dell had repairable parts and both lasted me 3+ years. Dell service was kind enough to replace my monitors 3 times under warranty due to ports not working and dead pixel. No questions asked replacement. The last display replaced still works great after 5 years almost. Lenovo service is below par. The guy said pixel bleed for LCD is a feature not an issue. I think this goes to show how terrible they are. They will simply read out policies and refuse to do anything for you. I was thinking of thinkpad previously but certain models are only available on Lenovo website. Something one should stay away from in my opinion after this experience.Go with a laptop that will work in the long run and offers you great service from seller/manufacturer period. Something very rarely found these days with the use and throw models these guys are coming up with.

Review from a Mac user. 4 stars.
Ok, first of all, let me tell you that I'm a die-hard mac user. I own a MB pro and I bought this lap for my cousin!Let me list the pros and cons that I found before handing over this beauty to its original user:PROS:1. Light weight! It's a charm to carry this machine around at around 1.6 kg weight.2. Design. As a mac user, I felt this machine very identical to a mac. There was no messy Lenovo logo behind the screen. One would hardly notice the Lenovo logo on the bottom of the screen's back.3. Less bezels.4. Backlit keyboard. This was one of the few machines that satisfied this criteria under 35k INR.5. Good keyboard. It was very smooth using it as well as the trackpad(but not up to the level of a mac)6. 8th gen intel processor.CONS:1. MS office that comes with this machine has only 1 year validity. The antivirus too(McAffee)2. Bloatwares(Lenovo pre-installed apps) (but this is not a serious issue at all)3. Built quality. ACTUALLY, THE BUILT QUALITY IS SUPERB AND MORE THAN WHAT YOU COULD EXPECT FOR THIS RICE RANGE. But, I'm mentioning it as a con since it's not a unibody Aluminium design BUT IS MADE OF HIGH QUALITY *SOME OTHER* MATERIAL. (you will hardly find out that it's is a non-metal finish)4. Battery backup: Could have been extended. But this is not an ultrabook to demand that! That's it!Would I recommend it? YES!! If u want a good WINDOWS MACHINE for not-so heavy use, THIS ONE IS THE BEST YOU COULD FIND UNDER 35k range. Thanks for reading!
