Best Hi-Ratio Shortening - Great for Homemade Frosting!
This is the best quality shortening out there for making homemade buttercream frosting. It doesn't leave any after taste like store bought shortenings. It clean tasting and makes my swiss buttercream airy and delightful. I get rave reviews from co-workers, friends, and others on my creations using this hi-ratio shortening. I usually buy it two tubs at a time because I bake a lot (it's a hobby). I like that it's in 3-lb tubs. Sweetex is a great product, but only comes in 50lb containers and that's just too much for a home baker. Kitchen Krafts tub size of 3 lbs is great. I'd even buy 2 at a time if they came in 5-lb containers. I added a few pics of creations I've made using this shortening (the naked wedding cake has frosting between the layers with the filling, not on the outside).

Love it and nightly recommend
I bought this to use in my buttercream frosting since I would be using to make a 45th wedding anniversary cake for my friends in Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m not a professional baker and wondered why my buttercream never seemed firm enough to hold hold decorations when I attempted decorating with buttercream frosting in the last. I was concerned the frosting would not hold up in the heat against the Nevada heat. After a lot of research l, I learned that using HRS shortening is key to making a better frosting whereas using the store bought Crisco does not work well(obviously the mistake I made previously when attempted)This HRS worked beautifully and my buttercream decorations held their shape. I gave the leftover to my friends since I’m unable to pack back home in the airplane to Texas. My understanding is you can only order this certain times of the year so it is too late in the summer season for me to get more now, but will definitely order in the future. I’ve included pictures. Please keep in mind the decorations aren’t perfect because this was my first time ever decorating a cake like this. It was a labor of live!

Great product but hesitant to re-order :(
The product itself is great. It makes buttercream that is smooth and less greasy. My only complaint is that it has clearly been repackaged. There wasnt a seal and it had been just messily scooped into the container. Also there was no expiration date!

makes some stable buttercreams, but not tasty ones
I used this for buttercreams. It really makes them stable, even if you're using margarine/vegan butter rather than dairy butter. So, that was great! I used it in both American and Swiss meringue buttercreams, and both were beautiful and held up for hours with nice sharp edges after piping. But they tasted really weird! Especially the SMBC. I don't know how to describe the taste, but I'm not sure it's worth the stability. I'd definitely use this if ever I were making a cake only to take pictures and not to eat.

Best shortening on the market!
Works wonderfully in buttercream icing! Best icing I've ever made! Used 5 lbs. of this shortening with Domino Icing Sugar To ice a 5 tier (14",12",10",8" and 6") wedding cake. Turned out absolutely perfect! I'll never use crisco again.

I'm tired of all the bad press on trans fat shortening
I used this hi-ratio shortening in my icing, mixed with 1/3rd butter for flavor for a wedding cake and cupcakes. The icing is very light and fluffy and does not have that waxy/greasy feel on the roof of your mouth. I'm tired of all the bad press on trans fat shortening. It's not like one is going to eat it very often. This stuff is the best for a beautifully iced cake that travels well and stands up to summer heat.

Improved flavor and smoother finish
Used hi ratio for first time on my sons wedding cake. Huge improvement on tast and the cakes frosted smoother then normal. Wish it wasn't so darn expensive.

Not the same as CK...
I thought this would identical to the other brand I normally purchase but it is NOT. It left little chunks of shortening in my buttercream. It didn’t break down all the way even though I mixed it for a longer period of time. I noticed the white spots when i colored the buttercream green and proceeded to pipe it in cupcakes. Will not order again.
