Food Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots

Seems to have good information and presents some good ideas. Unfortunately the book itself leaves a very impression. The absolute cheapness of the book construction and printing is worse than a coffee soaked napkin press. The page weight is practically tracing paper with the cover being less than card stock weight. The color saturation of the images are washed out because the page thickness simply cannot hold any ink.My copy arrived with wrinkles throughout the entire book. I mean the entire book, not just the pages, there are ripples all the way through including the covers. Really disappointed with the purchase. I'll keep the book because it does have good data, that's the only reason I've entered two stars.At this quality, it should really be a $5 brochure or a inkjet printout from a weekend boutique class.It's just crappy, because the information in the book is pretty good. They cover several subjects very well. They just decided to make the book really cheap. What a loss at $29...well not for the Seller, only for the Buyer. Maybe the First Edition was a quality publication...

I absolutely loved this book. As an architectural photographer, I needed to transition my skills into food photography. This book was perfect. It emphasizes it's instruction on the 20% of effort that gets 80% of the results. There's not too much emphasis on photography basics that are not necessary for most photographers. It helps people that don't need to spend money on equipment that gives them diminishing returns on the final result in the quality of the photo. There are a lot of good pictures and diagrams to help demonstrate her setups. It is a huge improvement over the 1st edition, even though I loved the 1st edition as well. The author comes across as humble and passionate. I love that.

The book was a bit outdated and photos were bad quality. The book did not offer what the description states. As other reviewers commented; the quality was poor. Techniques were older. May be good for someone who has never photographed food before but most of which you can see online in excellent quality.

For a new food photographer this book was excellent. Really informative and easy reading. I love all the tips and example photos. I read the whole thing in about an hour- then I found out it's the textbook for my Food Photography class next semester! :D

Although the book was very informative, the print quality of the book wasn’t what I would I had expected. The pages are very thin and the pictures aren’t as brightly printed as one would expect from a photography book. The book arrived with no protection in the box, so the pages were easily bent/torn. This book would be better served as a Kindle only book.

Nicole really did a good job here with this book. I was given a food photography assignment last month so I needed a book to learn the fine art of food photography quickly. I was able to pick up on recommended angles & camera settings by reading this book on the Kindle.Nice job Nicole.

This book is so healpful! I know basically nothing about photography and it starts with what kinds of cameras are available, what settings and lenses create which effects, then goes into staging, and editing. There are so many examples and such thorough instructions. It's amazing.

great book for learning food photography and styling as well as the editing and publishing side of things. Very helpful!

Nice book, just they right level of advice. Got it for a work colleague who runs her own cake business. As much about presentation as the technical aspects of photography.

Un libro totalmente recomendable.Seguía a esta fotógrafa desde hace tiempo.Necesitaba una ayuda para aprender a fotografiar platos de comida y al gustarme el estilo de Nicole, que mejor que comprar su libro.Un libro muy interesante, con nociones muy claras de como mejorar nuestras fotos de alimentos, aplicable a otro tipo de productos. Va desde las ideas mas básicas hasta el procesado de manera muy amena. Evidentemente indispensable leer Ingles, ya que el libro está escrito en este idioma.Recomendable si te gusta la fotografía de comida.

Ottimo libro, con esempi ben illustrati. E' un ottimo corso di fotografia, un ottimo corso di Food Photography. Ideale per chiunque sa usare la macchina fotografica in manuale, ma vuole saperne di piu'. Consigliatissimo. L'ho preso in inglese è scritto in un linguaggio semplice ed intuitivo.

Un libro lleno de ejemplos con los diferentes estilos, ángulos y puntos de mira. un apartado completo de como editar las fotos, una verdadera joya de la fotografía de comida

Its a good option if it be your FIRST book about photographybut its too basic, just for beginners, no more than that
