During a timing belt change I decided to swap the water pump as most people do to avoid having to do it all over again down the road. I purchased this pump as it came recommended from a friend and also comes with a gasket which the Gates pump did not. This pump has a slightly different impeller design than the OEM model but appears to work just as well. The gasket is a real gem in this kit as it is quite beefy and I did not worry about it leaking one bit after the install. Do yourself a favor and put some RTV on the gasket to hold it to the pump during install. This makes it way easier to get set correctly. The pump also comes with the corner vibration rubber piece AND a thermostat seal. I purchased a new thermostat that came with one so I did not need it but I found this to be a very nice addition and applaud Aisin for giving you everything you need to swap this pump.Overall I am very happy with this pump. I have been running it for about a week without signs of issue. This pump is competitively priced with the Gates pump and having purchased and installed both, I would recommend this one over the Gates as it comes with a proper gasket and feels like it won't let me down in 10k miles.

Casting of the pump was a direct fit, gasket for the thermostat was good quality, metal gasket for the actual pump was quality. Only thing I did not like was the impeller was different from OEM. It was the open type found on a gates type. It is a Japanese OEM supplier, so I trust it is OEM quality. Otherwise it is great quality for a great price! Beats forking over $150 to Subaru, everything else was 100% OEM exact. When removing, double check all screws are out, there is a hidden one under the roller that makes it seem stuck on the block, it comes off real easy, just suctioned on a bit. Would buy again!

Looks to be made exactly to OEM specifications. Aisin is an OEM for many Japanese brands, like Toyota. The pump is marked Japan.Comes with the thermostat gasket, and since the OEM thermostat doesn't come with it's own gasket, I assume that Aisin intends/expects you to use the OEM thermostat.

I bought a used Legacy that had a small coolant leak. Come to find out, the water pump gasket was the culprit. Which is why I just bought the water pump kit. The previous owner had done all the timing belt/head gasket work, but I didn't want to assume that the old parts were good, so I replaced the water pump as well as the gasket. This comes with a metal crush style gasket. I liked it more than the particle gasket that was on the pump that was in the car already. As the particle gasket was the leak. Everything fit like it should! Runs without leaks! Hopefully it will stay that way! Only had it on for a week, but no issues with coolant leaking.

None of the gaskets are with the pump. It is useless to me without the gaskets.

The water pump and water pump gasket arrived well-packaged, but the side gasket and O ring are missing...Now I need to track down the side gasket and O ring before installation, which is somewhat inconvenient. Product looks great, but missing parts are not great.
