Cake Confidence Kindle Edition

I received this book today and have not yet made any of the recipes but did feel it was worth pointing out to prospective buyers that all of the cake recipes in this book start with boxed mix. I was expecting a cookbook with actual cake recipes, rather than simply doctored mix cakes. They may taste great, I don't know, but nothing I would have bought had I known.

I'm fairly disappointed. I am not a fan of any "cookbook" that lists boxed cake mix as an ingredient. I understand the main agenda for this book is to decorate cakes but even that isn't exemplified consistently. If I could take away stars I would.

Oh, my .... how do I begin? I should been read the reviews before I ordered. She uses Duncan Hines cake mix in ALL of her recepies. Do I need palm oil and modified corn starch in my cakes? Nope. Do I need her decorating techniques? Nope. They basic and also store bought ( sprinkles and cherries). And buttercream in every recepie(((( Just sad. Will be returning this pseudo cook book.

Not for real bakers. I don’t know why anyone would buy this.

Mandy has taken flavor to a whole new stratosphere! Her book has so many new flavor combos and beautiful pictures to inspire your decorating. I have been using her recipes for a while now (from her blog) and they always turn out PERFECT, from the flavor & texture to the the perfect flat cake rounds that don’t need to be leveled, and everyone that has eaten my cakes (Mandy’s recipes) has said it is THE BEST cake they have ever tasted! Her recipes definitely gave me confidence to start my own Instagram page of cakes. I love that I have a book of her creations! *Note, for those who don’t already know Mandy or follow her blog or IG, she uses doctored cake mixes, which means she uses a box cake for her dry ingredients and adds in above and beyond what is listed on the box’s directions. It is simple and so easy, my kids make perfect cakes too! If you aren’t happy with using box cake mixes, you can still use her flavoring techniques to get those Bold flavors, not only in cake but her American Buttercream too! So delicious! Don’t knock it till you try it! You will not be disappointed!! (My picture is her white cake recipe with vanilla buttercream)

I love this book. If you follow Mandy on insta, you know she has no problem saying she uses doctored cake mix recipes. I bake professionally. And although I won’t use doctored recipes for my business, I love using them for family and friend events. The recipes from Baking with Blondie that I have tried tasted amazing and have always gotten me so many compliments. So to have a book full is just so exciting. Can’t wait to try them all. 🙌🏼

Beautiful book and tons of options. I do not mean to be negative but I have to explain why I have it three stars. This cookbook is perfect for a newbie but definitely not for someone who has experience making cakes. I was very disappointed to see the base of all the recipes was box mix. I use homemade recipes and was so excited to try out another bakers recipes. Coming from homemade recipes there’s no desire for me to try doctoring box mix recipes so I feel like I’m not getting my money’s worth.

The title of this book says it all! Cake Confidence is exactly what you’ll have after using Mandy’s recipes. I’ve tried many recipes along my journey - from many of the top followed cakers. Mandy’s recipes are not only the best BY FAR but they’re easy to follow! Many of my friends and family have benefited from me using her recipes and time time again, I hear “This is literally the best cake I’ve ever had”.

Purely because I live in the UK. Every recipe uses Duncan Hines cake mix along with lots of other items. I was hoping for a recipe with ingredients not using a packet cake mix that is not available in the UK :'( I dont know how to make these cakes without the cake mix

This book should have been called Cake Mix confidence, as an experienced baker I do not want to be using a cake mix, I want to be using good fresh ingredients. The layout of the book is good and the photographs are beautiful and the cakes are all decorated superbly but the recipes are very disappointing.

I feel horrible for giving this book two stars as it is laid out beautifully, but all of the recipes require an American cake mix. I bought it expecting from scratch recipes that can use high quality ingredients, not boxes of cake mix. Very disappointing and somewhat misleading I feel. If you’re in the UK, this isn’t the book for you :(

The recipes were for cup measuring and required boxed cake mix

I’ll be returning this item as it wasn’t made clear that all of the recipes require a cake mix as the base and no alternative recipe/method is given. Very disappointed. Also the recipes are all in American units and the UK equivalent isn’t given.
