Ito is the wrap of the tsuka. You can use it to wrap your Tsuka handle of sword or to wrap saya sheath. sageo is a hanging cord. Sageo used to tie the sword on your waist as a belt in the old time, but now we usually tie on the saya.

Got What I Paid For
This is a cheap, flimsy sageo—roughly the thickness of a shoe lace—suitable only for an equally cheap katana. It looked much heavier in the photographs. Since I have a couple cheap katana for use as loaners at my dojo, I will keep it as a replacement sageo for one of those. But, for a nicer iaito or shinken I recommend buying a much thicker sageo, even if you have to pay more for it.

Less than half an inch wide.
I bought this to wrap the hammer handle of my vampire slayer kit im building for my youtube channel Cobwebs and Candlesticks. It said half inch wide but its a little less. Its snags easy revealing white mesh underneath but since i was distressing the wrap anyway i could mask it with stain. It was worth the 9$ i spent but not more. I'll go with leather next time and not this vinyl.

PERFECT
Very nice. High quality. There is a barely visible seem on one side which means it is actually a wider piece that is rolled then bonded flat. I initially thought it was going to be a single layer, but being rolled makes it double... BONUS. It also makes it VERY strong. One thing to make sure of is that when you wrap, make sure the seam is against the material being wrapped.

Very nice wrap, great price.
Nice wrap, nice bright color. I just started getting into trying my hand at recwrapping my katana handles. I'm still learning and not very good yet, but this too wrap looks much better than what was originally on it.

Not high quality
I am not too happy with this. This sageo is not as thick and as tightly woven as the one I previously got from Tonzando. This was made in China and the quality is just not very impressive.

This works fairly well
I should have used shoelaces to practice as I burned through this stuff pretty fast in trial and error. This stuff stretches a bit, is easy to work with and looks pretty good.

Needed to be longer
Got a bit creative to get this to work on this project. A foot or two longer and it could have been one shot instead of filler in the middle.

I dont think this is full cotton
So its as described except I dont believe this is full cotton as it appears to be listed as. I went to stain to the color i need and it didnt hold dye anywhere near as well as my Cotton test patch... I think I can get it to work but I had to put alot more work into it because of this.
