Very happy with my first record player
I am writing this as someone who has no memory of ever using a record player before. So if you are a record/record player connoisseur, this may not be helpful for you, because it seems that people who have grown up with records or who have an extensive knowledge of these things are unhappy with this record player. However, to those of you who maybe want to start listening to records, I think this is a wonderful first record player! I don't find the sound bad at all and it definitely is loud enough for me. I mean, it's not a huge sound system, but I can't imagine why you would be expecting that with records or with something like this. I love it for what it is. It has a great sound with the records that I have, it plays them great, it's easy to use, and it's cute and convenient. I can bring this easily to other areas of my house, or ever to friends houses without any issue. I am very happy with this purchase!

Get ready for the Sock Hop!
This is the coolest little record player ever. Its works fine as a regular record player and the software is easy to use when you want to convert your old records into electronic files. One thing to note is that if you plug in the USB cable you must have the software installed and open to get the player to work. At first I thought it was broken because it wouldn't spin up. But then I realized that the software has a built-in awareness of the "start and stop" of the player and to a certain extent the player can be controlled through the software. Hense if you plug in the USB the player waits for commands from the software. If you want to just listen to the player it has a built in speaker that will take you back in time. It's pretty good for a basic player, but if you are an audiophile, you will want to plug in an external speaker. I loved the design of the case and my only complaint is that they didn't allow any extra room inside the case to put the power cable when you box it back up. It will fit if you are creative, but be careful not to crimp anything or push down too hard on the platter.Dig out those old vinyl records people and harken back to yesteryear!

A good record player
I purchased this accidentally, and when it got here I was really curious so I opened it carefully and take a few listen before I return this.PRO1. It's a nice looking record player! I'm in college and it goes well with my room style (in fact, any style you have).2. Very light and PORTABLE! I could carry this with me to my friend's house, hook a nice speaker and I can have a record player anywhere.. but probably not a good idea if you have to carry your vinyls around, but you get the idea.3. Sounded "vintage" - I have no idea how to put this into words, but the little built in speakers, they had a small "echo" to it and made it sounded "oldie, vintage" OK probably that doesn't help :/ anyways..CONS1. A lot of bad reviews, including this record has a ceramic needle and well, it's heavier than those magnetic/metal needle so, it will damage your records, faster (depends how often you listen to them). But NOT TOO WORRY, this is still a good player if you just want to listen/play records.2. all plastic, meaning.. this is not that durable, but for the price, it's not something you would want to fix, you would simply throw this and buy a new one. If you want a long lasting one, invest in something more expensive like $200+ turntables.3. It's a belt driven, so don't try your DJ wannabe act with this player.4. No matter how good your speakers/headphones are, the sound won't get any better.Ok, let me elaborate.. The little speakers will sound like, well.. little speakers and could be worse than your awesome premium desktop speakers; to be honest, my macbook pro speakers sounded better compared to the built in speakers on Crosley's..I plugged in my B&W P3 on the headphone jack, and boom! nope, sounded awful, same as the little speakers only a bit amplified because the P3 was in my ears. I tried the RCA, going through my pre-amp and to the speaker I used for my Stanton turntable, and the sound improved greatly! But still bad! so, if you're an audiophile, don't get this, ever! you will either be disappointed or you'll keep this as a keepsake (because this looked really nice on a shelf). I wouldn't mind getting this as a gift though but if I want to spend my money on it, I would mind..because I'm an audiophile. If you are looking for a player than can play vinyls or you're on a budget, or you don't care about sound quality that much, or you just like the looks, or you have too much money you have no idea where to spend, GO AHEAD and BUY THIS!If you're an audiophile, sound quality matters to you A LOT, you have $300 budget, you got nice speakers/headphones, you want a long lasting player, you want to do some DJ-ing, you don't want to damage your records faster, probably you want to look at some other brands like Audio Technica.. their AT-LP60 is right under $100 and their AT-LP120 is below $300.

Perfect!!!
This is a very cool machine. I have some old records I wanted to play, and this suits them perfectly. The sound is not super loud, but exactly what it should be for a record player. There is the ability to hook up external speakers, and the software is great to take older records and load onto computer. Small and compact if you would like to bring to someone's house or travel (briefcase size). Build quality seems great.
