Rugs Look Their Very Best
I was initially disappointed because it seemed flimsy and too small. But we have owned this for a year now and think it does a fantastic job. The low profile and smallish footprint enable it to get into small areas. It picks up hair, lint, crumbs, and dust beautifully and is easy to empty. We have Oriental rugs and they look much better since we stopped using the vacuum. Now we use the Hoky, pushing it in the same direction as the rug pile. This gives less resistance than pushing against the pile. This also combs and smooths the pile neatly and allows the rug design to be seen in its best alignment. Also you will get better light reflection. (If you want less light reflection, turn the rug 180 degrees.) For persons who think it is hard to push, or it is not picking up dirt well, check and see if one side of the roller has come out of the holder. This doesn't happen often, just a couple of times in a year.

It doesn't work!
I ordered this to help pick up crumbs left under the table by my 3 year old and pick up endless clumps of fur left on my hardwood floors by a very furry golden retriever. I had high hopes that it would do a decent enough job to get me through between actual cleaning with a vacuum and hardwood floor cleaners. Unfortunately, this does not cut it in the least on hardwood floors. I tried everything but it didn't really pick up much of anything and instead pushed the pieces of rice around that were dropped on the floor. I've since turned to a stick vacuum that recharges and which I'm happier with for now, although I had really hoped to find something that didn't need to be charged or has the potential to lose battery life while I'm trying to clean. Maybe this works fine on carpet but I would definitely not recommend it to someone who wants to use it on their hardwood floors.

good little sweeper, but are staring to have some problems of holding up
The first day this little sweeper came in I could not wait to use it. I tore it out the box and I was surprised at it's performance. It pick up so much dog hair that it was unbelievable. After all I vacuum once a week, mop the tile floor once a week and sweep every day, and I had just vacuumed 2 days prior. I like a clean house and specially clean floors, I am always barefoot when in the house and I leave my shoes at the door. So, I was pleased. Than, by the 3rd day it is still doing well but not as good as the first day and there are some small things that it just won't pick up (like a mop strand). I have never owned a carpet sweeper in my life so I have nothing to compare it to. I am 60 years old and weigh 97.2 lbs. so I try to use the vacuum less because it gets tougher each year to use. Today, I just order a Stanley sweeper to see if it does better. The little Hoky won't pick up my ashes that falls on the floor when I clean out my wood stove. But it still does very well with my dogs hair. I have a Basset Hound and she sheds a lot. I was buying those sticky lint rollers for the last year and what I spent on all those lint roller I could have purchased 3 of these sweepers. I so love how easy it is to clean this sweeper, it's a snap and so light it is so easy to use. I have used it so much in such a short time that the brissels are not holding up well they are staring to go sideways.

HOKY LIVES UP TO NAME
All growing up, my grandmother had a Hoky. It was a puke yellow color and it was awesome. 10 years into my marriage and 4 kids later... I was searching for something to do a "quick pick up" on my area rug. I somehow stumbled across the memory of my grandmothers carpet sweeper. My whole downstairs is hardwood, and I hated hauling my vacuum up and down the stairs (almost daily) just to clean my area rug. Now don't get me wrong... I still do a thorough vacuum once a week... but with my littlest guy just starting to crawl... I was in need of something I could pull out of the closet, vacuum, and be done, in 2 minutes or less. THIS WAS THE TICKET! It's easy enough my 4, 5, and 7 year old to use. It picked up small rocks, cereal, lint, hair, wrappers... it is great! I was nervous about spending $40 on this baby... but I am SO GLAD I did!!! Totally worth it!!!! Now I can have a freshly vacuumed look ALL DAY LONG, and not worry about my baby putting something into his mouth!!!!!!

Wireless Vacuum!
Well, almost and yes, a very good product. My puppy chewed up my vacuum cleaner cord twice, so I got a Hoky as a back-up cleaner. I had a Hoky about twenty years ago but it met its demise in a rather unfortunate cleaning incident which I won't go into :>)This version of the Hoky is not as big as the original, but it cleans just as well. Picks up dirt you wouldn't expect it to and does a fine job of it.It's easy to clean the trays out and it's pretty sturdy. For the price, it's well worth the money. Just don't expect it to be very big.

Hoky sweeper
Not nearly as good as my old one (40 yrs.old.) I am very disappointed in the quality and the pick-up abilities as opposed to my old one. My old one still works great- just needs new brushes which are no longer available. I had really expected and and hoped that the new one would work just as good or better. Not so!

Works quieter and better that my new Bissell (green)
After purchasing the comparable Bissell, it seemed too noisy as we sweep when people are present in our business... purchased this Hokey/ Oreck- it is much quieter, fits in smaller spaces and works wonderfully...Be sure to understand, this is NOT a vacuum cleaner, so don't expect it to work like one. This is a sweeper, souse it in several fast strokes and it will pick up all the little crumbs, shredded paper and cruds that seem to appear from no where. We have a very short commercial carpet and it picks up great.
