Mixed Feelings
NOTE: I was apparently lucky enough to get a genuine G1W.I'm one of those people that would rather be safe than sorry in my car, so I bought this as an insurance policy. I read an extremely favorable review on a blog that promised more than this Amazon listing, some of which ended up not being true.--Image Quality--Excellent. I can make out license plates just fine during the day and at night. At night there is some grain, but not too extreme. During the day, flares from the sun aren't really a problem, and the image never washes out too badly.--Overwriting--The blog I read said that it would overwrite old files when the card fills up. That is false. It has a menu setting that allows you to pick time increments for when it will overwrite old footage. So it will only record for 5, 10 or 15 minutes before starting to overwrite old footage. I bought a memory card that can hold 5 hours of footage, so I have opted to let it record until that is full, then it will shut down, and I can either reformat in-camera, or offload the footage on my computer and format the card there. I was VERY disappointed with this, because I wanted it to start overwriting footage after the entire card fills up.--Auto Power on/off--This feature only partially exists, in my experience. The blog promised that it would power on when the car turns on, and power off when the car turns off. Nope. I have to manually turn it on, and manually turn it off, unless I want it to record 15 minutes of my car sitting in a parking lot until the battery dies. This is a big deal to me, I don't want to have to think about this camera when I drive. I was extremely unhappy at this discovery.--Lens--The FOV on this camera is huge. It is a very wide lens, almost too wide. It allows you to zoom in, but once the camera is turned off and then back on, it is back to the widest setting, which was a little disappointing.--Menu--Yeah, it isn't the greatest. But let's be honest here - this is a cheap Chinese product, you can't expect the world. Once you learn what buttons control what in the menus, it isn't that bad.--Micro SD Port--I like that it takes Micro SD - those cards are inexpensive. But it was very hard to get the card into the camera. You are supposed to push the card in until you hear a click, otherwise the card will spring back out. I had to get an individual with long fingernails to assist me in pushing the card in, because I could not get it in far enough.--Mount--The suction cup mount is great, although not exactly durable. It is cheap plastic, so I'd say you should keep your fiddling with it to a minimum. But it has never fallen off the windshield, and the adjustable ball mount makes fine-tuning easy.--Random Quirks--Sometimes the camera will randomly turn off or stop recording. It is fairly uncommon, maybe once every week or so, but still annoying. You may be confused with how many negative comments I had, why I gave three stars. Well, I knew what I was in for with a cheap product, and expected some inconveniences. So this is three stars from that perspective.

First Dash Camera. I have no regret. Working perfect so far
Well, I was surfing the web looking for posts, reviews, youtube videos about dash cameras. Just wanted something to use on my car as a hobbie, recording the road, not much. But, wanted some equipment with good quality, not just average. In the other hand, didn't want to expend too much for a cup of basic reasons: it's my first dash camera so I wanted to try out this feature first and I was sure that I was able to get some nice equipment without payment that much (for example, the Blackvue cameras are great). So I bought this one with a Kingston 32gb microsd. And bought Kingston and NOT Sandisk because the seller himself recommend on its publication not to buy a Sandisk memory card however the usual recommendation when you surf Amazon looking for the camera. So I have this one and tryed out this morning. Some first impressions:1) As I read somewhere, look made on a very cheap plastic. And the shiny simil silver on the front lens it's kind wierd... should be more discrete.2) Left charging to the wall the camera all night (8-10 hours) because it has internal battery. Also, didn't read the poor manual yet so I dont know how much holds the camera without being connected to the car's 12v hole.Well, just went to the garage, installed the suction cup (perfect, but BE AWARE of not installing it near the black dots of your windshield -top side- because will fall down), turned on the camera (already the 32gb microsd card installed, that claims 9 hours, 54 minutes and 35 sec of recording time) and start recordingAnother thing: when you just plugg in the camera into the lightning 12v hole, starts recording.Then... after 5 blocks on the road, the low baterry icon started to blink. Wierd... just plugged into the 12v charge hole. Later will see qhat's going on.So far, so good.It records on *.mov. Just saw a minute ago on my tablet the first video and it's a wonderful quality.May be, now I'm remember reading that 1080 it's the same that 720... anyway, 720 is enough for me and I can read the license of the other cars.I'll keep in touch about this camera.------------------ UPDATE ///// May 28th, 2014 --------------------Well... I kept using it all these days.First of all: the battery only last 20 minutes without being connected to the car (12v). GGRR... to bad! Just went for THIS model because of the seller's advertisement: this one has the new battery (dont remmeber how many mAh) and last more! BS Anyway, I'm out of the country and won't be back for a long while, so that's it.However, connected to 12v works just fine.QUALITY. Wonderful. I was recording only at 720p (somewhere I read that 1080 it's the same, but didn't try yet) and I must said that 720p is all you need in order to read another car license plates on your cell o laptop.Just in order to try, removed the microsd from the camera, installed on my cell and saw the videos just fine. The suction cup, works EXCELLENT.For me, it's more than enough: recording all week (more than 9 hours in 720 mode), if there's nothing extraordinary up to the sunday night, just delete all videos and pictures (you can take pictures with the camera, just press the MODE buttom and works as little camera) and start again.
