Take them anywhere in your pocket when out and the heat is long lasting.
Having had a collapsed lung and having to have it drained my ribs hurt when I get cold; these bags are small enough to fit under the arm and without the bag I would get no relief from the pain at all. I love this product but they are damp when they are new but if you heat them up on some kitchen towel it helps to dry them out so that you don't get damp.

Bad smell & wet
Total waste of money. The first one was used as per instructions, but was always wet after heating and finally burnt in the microwave. It was smoking and the smell was appalling. Had to put in a sink full of water to stop it. Forgot all about it until this weekend when my husband tried the second one to ease a knee injury. Again, it smelt bad and was very wet after heating. He used it four times, then it actually caught alight in the microwave, despite heating it according to the instructions.
