Good cover, don't bother buying magnetic strips
This product is a very good covering for our 32" ceiling fan. The material is about 1/3" thick, and there is enough of it to cover a much bigger fan. It comes with enough velcro to attach the the cover completely around the edge. I noticed in the Amazon ad that others had purchased magnetic strips to attach the cover, rather than using the velcro strips. I thought this was a good idea, because I thought the seal around the edge would be better. I also thought the magnetic strips would allow for easier removal of the cover. Since our ceiling fan has a non-magnetic louver (aluminum), I decided to buy two 10' packages of the magnetic strips and glue the strips both to the louver and the cover. However, the magnetic strips are very weak, and I found they barely support the weight of the cover with magnetic strips installed around the perimeter of the cover. I thought that a good winter wind through the attic could blow the cover off. So I used the provided velcro instead, and I am happy with the result. The velcro is strong enough to hold the cover firmly, yet easy enough to peal off when I want to uncover the louver. Also, the velcro is a pretty good seal at the edge. My advice is don't bother buying magnetic strips, unless you really have a small opening. My only complaint about the cover is that it would be helpful to have cutting guide marks on the inside surface.

Easy to install. Wish it wasn't such a bright white.
I had a handyman install this due to a back injury, but it didn't seem that difficult to install. I have several large gaps in the louvered panels of my attic fan and he said he could feel an instant difference when he was on the stepladder and attached the cover. The real test will be if I can get the upstairs below 80 when it's 90+ degrees again. My only complaint is the shade of white. It's too bright and sort of sticks out like a sore thumb. But well worth it if it works!

Easy to install and is reusable for next season! Highly recommend!
Super easy to install. the kit comes with a large strip of velcro and the actual insulation sheet. You simply cut the velcro to length for each side of the fan housing, remove the paper covering the adhesive, and stick the velcro to the fan housing. You then remove the paper on the other side of the velcro. You lift the insulation sheet into place, and carefully stick it onto the velcro strip adhesive. be careful to start from one end so you can smooth the insulation sheet out as it sticks to the velcro adhesive. You then pull the insulation sheet down, and the one side of the velcro is adhered to the sheet. You take a pair of scissors and trim around the outside of the velcro to remove the excess insulation sheet. I marked the two ends so I would know how to install it next year. you then just lift the sheet into place, and press the velcro together. the white outside color is a nice match for most ceilings. It is now September 2017, and cover is still in excellent shape. I am always taking it on and off, depending on whether the windows are open and the fan can run, or if windows are closed and AC is on, just quickly pop the cover back on.

Okay, with some caveats...
First- as others have said- the hook and loop "velcro" it ships with doesn't seem to be of very good quality. If you have a steel frame- you might want to consider using self-stick magnetic tape instead. The nature of the material (the silver side) also means once you stick something to it- you will ruin it if you pull the adhesive off. I think this is why some have said it is a single-use product. The hook and loop is stronger than the adhesive it sticks with, but it is enough to tear the cover apart.More importantly though, and as others have noted- it IS NOT CUT SQUARE! We actually found all four sides were cut at slightly different angles. We ended up using a large framing square to actually cut out the rectangle we needed from the middle. It is also not really the dimensions listed- it is slightly smaller, and varies depending on exactly where you measure it. Add a "-ish" to the width and length provided, and if you don't have a framing square- get one if you want it to fit well. For the price, compared to others, I think it is still good. It just takes more work and materials than really should be necessary.

I don't understand why there's not a better product for this purpose, but until then...
If you have a whole house fan, and you should, if you live any where that gets hot in the daytime and cools off at night--you need a cover like this. It's a piece of insulating fabric you can buy at a hardware store. You cut it to fit and apply the provided velcro strips to the edges of the fan and the edges of the fabric. There really ought to be a better product out there for this purpose--and there are, if you want to make them. You could go to home depot and buy enough of this material and the velcro that holds it up to make ten of these things. Unfortunately, I have only seen the fabric sold in quantities big enough to make ten of these.

Did the job just fine...
I was looking for a solution to block the cold air from coming into the house from the attic and I didn't want to have to go up into the attic and build a box over the fan. This worked as I hoped. It did take a little while to measure the insulation to fit over the fan cover and I had to make sure the cover was clean so the velcro stuck well. But so far it has stayed up there just fine. (been 30 days since I put it up). I am happy with the purchase.

Easy to Install.
Shutter cover was easy to install. Cut to fit opening, attached velcro strips to cover and mating strips to trim wood around whole house fan and press into place. The insulated cover blocked about 90% of the heat coming from the attic space. I tried to attach a picture but my file type is "unsupported". I'm very happy with the look and the outcome.
