Q: Is there any way to make the Wi-Fi connection more consistent? It seems to drop the connection and does not automatically reconnect.

Used to have that same problem. I ended up activating the access point on the main panel, and connecting both of my remote panels to it. Havent had a problem since.

Q: How many of these can connect to the main panel?

You can pair up to three (3) using the built in IQ Panel Access Point or your Home Network. If you need help with anything just let us know, Thank you Online Systems

Q: Does this work with the original IQ panel?

Says IQ2 or IQ2+, so probably not

Q: Does the chime give zone descriptions as well? Notifying the home owner which door is opened?

Yes it does. You can choose voice only or voice and chime or chime only.
