Belle Poque Women's Victorian Steampunk Ruffled Fishtail Mermaid Skirt BP203

I ordered this in the XL because my measurements are waist 38 1/2" , hips 46 1/2" , which are larger than the size chart, but took a chance because of stretch in material. I think I may have been able to order a large, I've got a good bit of extra room. That's ok, I'm good with my trusty Singer sewing machine, and I'll make it fit me, custom. I'm glad I ordered this knock-off, the expensive one is about 4 inches longer! As it is, I'm going to try to fold in some of the hem near the bottom. I'm only 5'3", so I'm used to hemming almost everything. Really love this skirt and this brand. I may order this in the large in a different color, that's how much I love it. I have two Victorian style coats to wear with this skirt, looks awesome! If you are good with tailoring your own clothes, order your normal size and tailor to your body. There is a lot of stretch, so you could take a chance and size down one size, no more than one size. I highly recommend this skirt and this brand.Update: I ordered a medium and a large to see which one fits me the best. The medium ALMOST fit, needed anotheR inch. The large fit PERFECTLY....BUT it showed my stupid granny belly. So, I'm going to keep the original XL because I have more hip room, looser on the belly. I was sad to return the medium burgandy, it was GORGEOUS! But, they don't have any in my size 😢😢😢. So, if you don't have a belly to worry about showing, order your regular size (for me, a large in skirts), go up a size to be looser through the hip if you do. But really, get this skirt, it's so beautiful.

Received many compliments on this skirt. It is very long so I had to fold the waist over. I usually wear a size 4 and the small was just right.

I bought this for a suffragette costume. The dress is a nice material, slightly stretchy. I read some reviews that said not to buy too large a size but I didn't listen. I'm 5'10" 165lbs and I wear a size 12 (US) jeans. I ordered an extra large. I should have ordered a large, it's kind of baggy on me. I'll try taking it in. The only quality issue I'd change is the ribbon. It's more decorative and less functional. I think I'll replace it with some black shoelaces instead of the satiny ribbon that it came with. Maybe with some laces I'll be about to sinch it in enough I won't need to sew it. It does look very nice on me, it just kind of falls down a bit. The length is really good for my height. These pictures are right out of the package and are still pretty wrinkled.

I used my husband's account to order this for the Prime delivery.Based on the measurements, I ordered an XL because I wasn't sure how much stretch it would have. I will be ordering a L in the gray to see if its not "too" tight for Military Functions. (my waist is 34, hips are 44 and this wasn't tight at all and I could dance in it)I wore this with a black Peplum blazer for a JROTC Military Ball. I was the coordinator. MANY compliments. I didn't feel too old for it. My husband said it was sexy and classy.I have a smaller waist with a butt. This is a flattering cut.The fabric surprised all of us. It is thicker than we were expecting and very stretchy. I love this so much that I wish they made a pinstripe and navy blue version.Just ordered the Gray in Large. It fits Amazing!! I wish this came in a pinstripe of some sort!! (I will be reodering the black in a Large also.)

I ordered this skirt larger than I should have. Returned it and ordered a smaller size. The quality is outstanding! Exceeded my expectations. Heavy-weight material and feels great. I reordered in a smaller size and can;t wait for it to arrive. I loved it! The color was exactly as shown on site. I had to order different color as my size was not available. I loved the red but ordered the black this time.Edited to add: I received the black one today. I normally wear US size 6/8 but I ordered a large, thinking the skirt ran small. It doesn't. I reordered a size MED and it fits perfectly. I wish they had the red in my size but guess I will keep an eye out for when they restock it. I love this skirt! Money well spent!

This skirt is really beautiful. I love the ruffles, the mermaid silhouette, the heavier material and how it feels as it brushes against my legs. Beware, though. As all the other reviews have noted, this skirt is VERY long (44"). I'm 5'5 with a 30" inseam and must pull the skirt nearly up to my bra or fold the waist over 2-3 inches. With that adjustment, I can wear my 3" stiletto heels or my 2" Victorian boots and the skirt will hit the top of my shoe and barely clear the floor. Tucking a shirt into the skirt might look ok with the folded over waist, but it looks great with a shirt or corset that goes over the skirt. It does run a little big and since it stretches, I would go with a size smaller than you might think you need. I bought both the medium and the small (I've got a 30" waist with 36" hips) and the small is about right (although I could almost do an extra small if they had it). Returned the medium and kept the small. Really gorgeous and fun! Oh! And shipping was VERY fast - I got it within two days of ordering and didn't pay anything extra.

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this for the price. The fabric is stretchy and thick and it’s a flattering sillouhette. Will be perfect for my 1890-era murder mystery party! I’m usually a size 2-4 and ordered a small (it fit well with even a bit of extra room). It’s pretty long so I may have to wear higher heels (or else it will just look fuller on bottom, which is fine!).

A perfect skirt, just what I wanted. I am a size 12 and 5 foot 9. I purchased an extra large. It is a bit large, but very comfortable. If you were shorter than me, I think this skirt would be to long for you. But I am always skeptical when I order an XL. This is a true Xl. The shape of this skirt is super flattering. Can't say enough good things about it. It does have some weight too it, so it's perfect for our winter trip to Paris.

This skirt is quite nice. The material is slightly stretchy, good quality and well sewn. It fits slightly larger than expected. I'm 5'7, around 147lbs and fairly athletic. My top half is a size 6 (small waist) and bottom half usually a size 10. I bought a medium and it will work but I wonder if a small would have fit better. It is somewhat wrinkly out of the package. I plan to have it pressed before I wear it. I noticed there are similar skirts on Amazon, note that some seem to be made of a more structured material that fit small. This skirt has quite a bit of stretch and is a bit bigger for sizing.

The sizing of the skirt was a little off from the chart and thus too small to wear, prompting a return.This being said, the skirt was very well made, the fabric is indeed very good quality material and the stitching was strong.While it did not fit me, I do still recommend this item as a good purchase so long as you keep the sizing being slightly smaller in mind.Beautiful skirt, all in all.
