Hair Steamer Beauty Salon Equipment Color Processing

I am a cosmetologist and have this in my hair salon. It works fantastically so far. I’ve had it for a month. I read some of the complaints and most of the issues can be avoided if you use distilled water and drain the steamer at the end of the day. Maintenance is key to it working properly. So far, so good!🤷🏾‍♀️

I ordered this item 6 months ago and only used it 4 times a month. Yesterday while using the steamer on a client, it started leaking water out of the electrical part. Not just a drip, but a waterfall! I contacted the company and they're response was:"Thank you for contacting BestChoiceProducts! We apologize but we do not have a repair department to repair items. Also we it appears you are out of warranty so we have very limited options in assisting you. Our warranty is 60-days. Outside of the warranty we cannot offer a replacement or a refund."The warranty card that they pack with their product states:"Any product failure due to inherent quality problem will be given free-of-charge repair within three months since the buying date in case of confirmed normal usage; within 4-12 months, your product will enjoy the repair for which service charge is free but material cost is payable; after one year of purchase, your product will enjoy the repair for which both service charge and material cost are payable."Now i am stuck with a piece of crap from a company that lies to their customers.

I purchased this steamer 2/20/12 because this is the only steamer that wasn't a table top steamer that had gotten an average of 4 stars within my price range. I prefer a portable steamer that is adjustable versus a steamer that I have to find the right table and chair for plus adding books for height so that my daughter can use it AND pay 100 bucks for anyway. Well after the 1st couple of uses I thought it was great but I tried to use it today for a 3rd time and it smelled as if the unit was on fire! I unplugged the unit drained the water and saw this black material floating in the water. I drained the machine after the last 2 uses because for me I cannot fill the unit with more than 3/4 cup of water or it will start to drip from the bottom holes of the actual unit attached to the pole and the instructions do not indicate how much water to use so I started with 1/2 c and worked my way up. I submitted a request to the seller TODAY via Amazon for a return of this unit as I think I may have gotten a defective one. Also the unit did not automatically shut off. I will post an update with regard to seller response for return or hopefully replacement of this unit.Update: I rec'd the email reply below from the seller. Are they serious? Whatever happened to offering to send a replacement instead they offer u a discount to keep the defective product??Good morning,Thank you for contacting Best Choice Products. The steamer arrived as promised and was securely boxed. Like others found the directions were very limited to basicly mostly pictures and I had to laugh because you could tell it is not produced in the USA because of the sentence structure and the way our English language was used. But it was fairly easy to assemble. The only hitch I found is that you can't effectively secure the stand to its pole on the bottom unless you have another tool to tighten it a bit more and of course that tool is not included, (I used a wrench) so that when you're done the unit tilts a bit and feels like it might fall over. (But it actually doesn't) I've used it several times and I love it! My hair feels so nicely moisterized and soft. Though it isn't mentioned in the directions I learned from reviews of other steamers it is recommended to clean the unit regularly by running a cycle of distilled water with white vinegar in it and running another cycle with just distilled water. This helps to clean the heating elements and keep the inner parts from deteriorating too soon which seems to be a downfall of these steamers. Please remember to use DISTILLED WATER ONLY! Be aware that as it steams the water will drip on you so have a towel around your neck. Also the steamer is good for chest/head congestion as I learned this recently when I had a bad cold. It really helped! Happy steaming!!!
