Nice Tone Versatility
Far more adjustable than the previous Route 66. I am able to dial in the tones I need when using different guitars (single coils or humbuckers)--particularly for that southern rock band sound. With a few tweaks, I can usually find my desired overdrive tones (depending on the song). It replaces two pedals on my board and opens up some precious real estate. It plays nicely with stacked overdrive pedals--placing this one first in the signal chain. I would definitely recommend this pedal.

The compressor is nice. If you like a compressor with color
The compressor is nice. If you like a compressor with color, it can do it. For a more transparent sound, you can dial in some clean signal...similar to parallel compression. This makes it very versatile. The overdrive side is nice, but it has a mid-hump to it. It definitely has more gain than a tubescreamer. It sounds great into a silverface Fender amp.

Really loved the tone I got from the predecessor
Really loved the tone I got from the predecessor, the Visual Sound Route 66 V2. Gigged with it a lot. The V2 buttons were a bit unreliable so I decided to upgrade to the V3 and I love the buttons and the new features. Sounds great with any guitar but have to say that the tone with humbuckers is the best. Crunchy and warm with tons of sustain.

works, gives you that signature tone. I use it on acoustic guitars for the compressor and kick a little grit into ti occasionally so it is good for both slight FX and heavier applications. Great all around pedal. Compressor alone is noteworthy, distortion grooves from little grit to wholesale warm sustain and the patching options are great.

Very good overdrive- compressor pedal
This is what I was hoping for. The overdrive is smooth and the compressor is paired very well with it. The sound is rich and full. What it is supposed to be.

Visual Sound XO is OK
I really wanted to like this pedal, but I A/B'd it against a T-Rex Crunchy Frog and a BB preamp and the Visual Soumd pedal came in last. I only tried it front of a Mesa Rectifier. It might sound great in other applications.

Not for Rock Music...
This isn't worth the money for me. I play in a rock band and I wanted this to add punch to the amp and then add a kick for soloing. It sounded OK, but when I kicked on the COMP the guitar got lost in the mix. This may be better for a more mellow band.

Rock Till You Drop
This pedal will allow the most fervent of grinders that tonality that is needed to cut through the night.
