I purchased when it was on sale. I use a Alexa approved bulb inside to dim the light when I want. I had a bigger lamp behind my couch but needed something that wasn’t overwhelming and gave off good light.

I'm giving this review all 5 stars, although delivery was a hassle. Thanks to the amazing customer service rep that redeems this review. I ordered the lamp, which came on time. However, without even opening the box, I knew the box did not have all the items. 1- the box was extremely light, which tells me the base wasn't packed; the base weights about 30-40 pounds. 2- there is no way the shade could fit in a flat rectangular box without being crushed. The image of the lamp appears on the box, so I was very confused as to how anyone could allow this item to leave the warehouse without realizing that something is wrong. Anyway, I spoke with a rep at Amazon, extremely nice and helpful lady and she overnight me another lamp.Now for the actual review of the lamp. I LOVE THIS LAMP!!! It's extremely stylist, and decorates any room lovely. As mentioned by others, the instruction provided isn't the best. I read it to figure out what goes where, but went with my own technique for putting it together. You'll definitely need two people to do this. when putting together I:1- tighten the two poles together first2- insert tighten pole in hole in base, slant it to one side, me holding the top, while my friend tighten the bottom screws.3- unscrew ring top, put on shades, then re-screw.It's really not difficult, it took my friend and I about 10 mins, maybe less. I think you'll be better off with no following the instructions 100% and go with what works best for you.

Beautiful lamp that was exactly what I was looking for. I had previously purchased a smaller 73" lamp from another website because I thought 81" would just take over my room, or the the shade would sit too high, but came to realize that the height of the shade in the 81" lamp is perfect. The lamp has the great stainless steel look that matches with so much modern/ contemporary decor and really adds more interest than just a smaller floor lamp to the room. Particularly since I have really high ceilings this works great. Provides just enough light and you don't have to duck or worry about hitting your head by moving around it.There are only 2 negatives I can give about this lamp although they are truly minor and not enough to dock any stars from, but wanted to include it so others know as well. First is that there is no bottom to the shade like some lamps have that dimmer, this one doesn't so you will see the inside of the shade which is plastic or the bulb if you sit close enough. Lastly, the shade is white. It takes on a softer/ warmer look when it is lit, but the lamp would coordinate more with most decor if it was off white. I plan to fix this with a quick dip in some rit dye. In any case don't let these issues persuade you from buying the lamp since it is really lovely.

I'm going to be nice and give this product four stars. I actually really like the lamp itself its tall just like I wanted it but the problem that I have with it is that it's not sturdy enough. The metal part is very flimsy and I also noticed when you put the lamp shade on it it makes it dip down low I also have a LifX bulb and that bulb is very heavy so it made it dip down even more (hence the reason why I have the black zip tie around it). Now I'm not going to send it back because like I said I like it and I can deal with it but for some people this may be a deal breaker.

The lamp arrived in 2 days. The box was a mess but product was fine.It was easy to assemble,the base was solid and seemed sturdy.i loved the arc.The only problem I had is the lamp shade is listed as off white and I feel it is white.The shade did not come close to my other off white shades so didn’t work out for us

First, the packaging was Exceptional! I loved that the underside of the base was covered in felt, and with a couple of cardboard shims I assembled this by myself in under ten minutes. The instructions were very clear and tools were provided as well.Three stars because other Reviewers had mentioned adding a diffuser to block the harsh glare of the naked bulb, but the added weight caused the lamp to tip over and bend the arc rods. This is a very flimsy lamp. Amazon is replacing the damaged one as the supplier wanted $39 to ship replacement parts.

It looks very nice, but there are a couple of problems that make it unlikely that I would recommend it. First, the bottom of the shade is only about five feet off the ground so, if people can (and do) hit their head on it when they walk by it. I had planned for it to be over the coffee table, but the shade is not sufficiently far from the base to allow this to happen. As a result, while it looks nice, it is not very functional. The second problem is that there is a bare bulb within the shade and, for anyone below or near the shade, there is a bare bulb shining in their face. A plastic diffuser at the bottom of the shade would certainly help solve this problem - but none came with the lamp.It is a nice idea and really has a nice look, but functionally is less than useful.

We just received this item so I can’t vouch that it is durable but it is nice and came as described. Setup is tedious (~1hr) but I have another fish hook lamp that is similar and it was much easier to setup than that one. I’m not a handy man/ woman so that says a lot for this comment. Overall we are happy with the purchase
