Rhinegold Masai3 Full Neck Fly rug with Waterproof Topline and Side Skirts

I bought this for my 26 year olds Welsh cob mare who suffers from mild sweetitch. She wears 5'9 rugs usually so i purchased that size. It fits perfectly and after being on her for 4 days it hasn't slipped or moved out of place. I especially like the fact that it has a waterproof top line so i can leave it on her when its raining. I think of its very hot she might get a bit warm in it but i can swap over to het other non waterproof one then. This rug takes the worry out of needing to rush up the stables to take fly rug off if it starts raining heavily. As it is light in colour it reflects rather than absorbs heat. Would definitely recommend. The photo was taken after a few days wear so it is no longer sparkling clean!

Finally got round to using my sheet! Seems a lovely generous fit. Not sure if the spinal panel will make him sweat in this heat though - I’ll check him In a bit.Only one complaint - the first tummy Velcro strap is not attached to near side rug so will have to do some repairs - so slightly disappointed quality control didn’t pick this up before I put it on him. So only gets 3 stars from me.Update: I know today was hot but he was dripping with sweat. The waterproof strip is non breathable.

This is an improvement on the previous design, better proportions and a good fit, love the rain shield down the spine / over the shoulders. However the zebra material is still flimsy / easily torn so be prepared to do some running repairs, plus the belly closure (ie the horizontal velcro) is inadequate and poorly positioned.

The idea of the zebra print works, that's the best thing about this rug. Unfortunately the mesh on the side has split after only a few days use so really disappointed with the quality. The mesh is so thin that as soon as my horse decided to roll on the floor it has split away from the from the straps.

Bought 2 of these and sent one back , sizing leaves a little to be desired . I’d go for the next size up you want which is what we ended up doing .Horses don’t sweat which is another plus as this rug is quite thick .

Has 3 holes in it. One where the waterproof layer joins the fly rug material. One a little below and then one just about the taped edge behind the three belly straps....Love paying £40 for a few hours use.

This product lasted 2 months before the belly strap ripped. My Irish draft is very good with rugs so the quality of this item is an issue.

The design is nice however the fittings ie the buckles are cheap and therefore awkard to use - the velcro is super tough but the white fabric is very lightweight and tears easily. This won't last a summer. The grey back section and the black neck section are a good design and robust - just need a tougher fabric for the main part. Hope that helps
