The packaging (or shipping) was quite poor, with tearing in the outer box and smashed corners in the inner box. Did this affect the replica? Not in the least. The pistol itself was in excellent condition and performs as specified. The left brass receiver plate has a gap, but that does not affect a non-firing replica. No complaints to Amazon, to Denix...try just a little harder, especially at this price.

I wanted a really unique replica for some of my steampunk costuming and this really fits the bill. It is very unique looking and very solid. It actually feels like you are holding a real weapon. It's weight, quality of build and cocking mechanism is simply fantastic. For the price, I doubt you can beat it.

The pistol is of decent quality. It compliments my 1860 Henry. Packaging by Denix is another story, ever hear of bubblewrap?
