The Mantis tri-rad Adult trike is a great option for those looking for a comfortable worry free ride. The low cut frame and parking Brake makes for easy mounting and dismounting. Large spring seat provides a comfortable platform for long or short rides. Folding frame makes storage easier.

Great Trike!
Just got this Adult tricycle for my 16 year old daughter who is on the autism spectrum. Not being comfortable enough to ride a bicycle, we thought aThree wheeler would be a good solution. I came across the mantis because it hit a few important points for us. 1, it folds. We need to conserve space. 2, it's not that expensive compared to others. I read through the reviews and heard all the horror stories but thought I'd give it a try. Worst case, I knew I could ship it back. i ordered the trike Monday and received it on Wednesday. It was packed in one box, all of the metal parts (frame, handlebars etc) were wrapped in bubble wrap. No parts missing, nothing didn't fit where it was supposed to, not a scratch to be found. I was able to put it together in less than an hour by myself. I'm pretty handy but this was pretty easy. We went on our first family bike ride and my daughter loved it. It fits her perfectly and it's a good looking trike. She's 4'10" tall so the 20" wheels and 16" frame works well for her. I have only good things to say about the mantis tri-rad. After reading all the negative reviews I decided to add my two cents. This is my first review ever!

Perfect bike for teen/adult with Down syndrome
I was going to give this bike fewer stars after struggling for hours to put it together (awful instructions, missing screws, etc.), but now that we've had it for several weeks, wow, this trike is great! We bought it for our 16-yr old daughter who has Down syndrome. She never cared for the 2-wheel bike with training wheels she's had for years. I'm guessing it was just too much to worry about keeping the bike upright while coordinating pedaling and braking and everything else. This bike is PERFECT for her! She all of a sudden loves biking and asks to ride it every day. Any time the family goes out--to a restaurant, shopping, walking the dog, etc.--she asks if she can ride her bike. It's great! Next purchase will be a bike rack for the car so the family can go on biking adventures together. When folded, the trike does fit in my little car (Nissan Leaf) with the back seats folded down. Also, to make it fit, the handlebars need to come off, which is fine because they have a quick-release mechanism. (The seat is also quick-release, which is handy, since all of our daughter's friends are wanting to try out the trike and it's easy to raise the seat.)I'm glad we got the 16-inch and not the 20-inch. It's plenty big. My daughter is 4'8 and 100 pounds and she uses the seat at its lowest level. And kids/adults much taller fit on it fine with the seat raised.

I am so disappointed because this trike would have suited me so well
I am so disappointed because this trike would have suited me so well. I am handicapped and awaiting hip replacement. I have to lose weight and my specialist advised me that one of the best exercises was riding a bike. I have a balance problem, hence I purchased this trike. I was excited when it arrived and started the task of assembling it. There lay the first problem. The instruction leaflet doesn't give instructions. It makes general statement, like telling you to adjust the brakes, but doesn't tell you how to adjust the brakes. It is so woefully inadequate that it is of no use whatsoever. The trike was definitely not in 'new' condition. The frame is heavily scratched and there is a number of gaping paint flaws that would definitely rust. It took me a couple of hours to assemble. More problems. The chain guard gets in the way of the pedals and no matter what I did to adjust it, the pedals still stuck. I took it off and attempted to ride the trike. The single gear and drive train made a horrendous noise and jumped all over the place. I then attempted to fix the basket onto the trike and discovered that there a no fixings in the pack or on the trike to do this. I took the trike to my local bike store to see if they could help. They had a quick look at the trike and told me that the frame had an alignment problem and that was why the chainguard was catching the pedals. I have come to the conclusion that buying this trike is a lottery. You may get one that's perfect and the reviews echo this, or you may end up with a dud and the reviews echo this too. I'm returning mine for a refund because it's not as advertised, it's defective and I am not willing to take part in another lottery to get it replaced.

I was so excited when i received the box. I end up taking it to the mechanic across the street due to the chain and I was charged $100.00 getting this damn tricycle together. The chain was so crooked that he had to take it apart. In addition, the handle bar is rusty. He told me to go to Home Depot and buy a wax for metal to prevent more rust. In addition, there's so many scratches!!! I could have just return this but because of the "folding tricycle" I didn't want to bother taking it apart and shipping it back.

I love the bike
Im on my second bike. First one was making some kind of clicking noise, since the box it came in was was all broken so i figure bike must be damaged. So I returned my first and replce with the second one. After few 2 weeks of riding, now my bike is making the same clicking noise. I love the bike! Finally got my bike all set up to ride my two Yorkies. The noise has not bother me yet

Unusable because of defect now it says I can't return it all because I have to work and didn't have time to put it together.
Unless I can find a way to remove the huge weld burr on the axle where the wheel attaches, it is unusable. I was swamped at work and didn't get it put together until Easter Sunday. Now I look on her to return it and it says my return window closed March 31. This is not right

Build quality is OK but support is excellent
I had a few issues with components that were not working correctly out of box, most notably the one-way drive gear for the back axle and the axle was damaged itself. The guys at the support company in the US were quick to help and shipped the parts fast. I replaced the defective parts and the trike works OK now. I would say that if space is an issue and you are buying this because it is fold-able, when folded up it doesn't save much space.

Damaged
Bought this bike for my disabled daughter we have been looking for a long time and then this was on back order so we waited. We got it yesterday and It doesn't pedal , the grip is ripped off the cap , and the chain guard is bent. I just want it replaced with a new one. How do I do this?

Confusing instructions. Very clunky
There’s not much choices for foldable adult tricycle that’s reasonably priced. This was just okay choice. The instructions are not very clear and would probably take a good 4+ hours to assemble. It took a long time because the instructions are confusing and a lot of time is wasted assembling something then realizing it’s was wrong and then reassembling it again. If there was a Schwinn brand of this I would’ve bought that in a heart beat, but in the meantime this will do...

this one is by far the best all-round choice
Well constructed and well equipped, no problems assembling the bike. Compared to other adult trikes, this one is by far the best all-round choice. With 6 speeds, capable of any type of riding you wish to enjoy, a must for seniors.

Is a nice bike but unfortunately the frame had scrapes on it and a nut and 2 washers were missing . Would have given a better rating had this not happened.

This bike does not fold as much as I thought it would. If you want a trike that folds and is easy to store I would not buy this one.
