From the Manufacturer A 1:18 precision model of the Maserati 250 F, often called the most beautiful Monoposto that has ever graced a racetrack. More than 250,000 fans watched Juan Manuel Fangio defeat his bitter rivals Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins at the Nürburgring. This victory gave Fangio his 5th world championship. This award-winning diecast metal model (NAMAC Miniature Car of the Year 2005) is constructed from 1,387 single parts by the hand. Up front is an incredibly detailed in-line 6 cylinder engine, complete with all plumbing and wiring. Look closely and you can read the “Borrani” logo on the knock-off wheel nuts. The full metal model is made of 1,387 single hand mounted parts. And as we show you here, we focused our attention not only at the body. Also the “inner life” of the model was build with the highest possible level of details. Even if some of the parts are invisible for your eyes after the assembling, just like the original. History of the car: 90 years Maserati had reason enough for CMC to concern ourselves closer with that brand which is without a doubt one of the italian racing car manufacturers with the most venerable history. CMC decided to appreciate this birthday with a replication of the 250 F. After all, this racing car is called the most beautiful Monoposto who ever hit the racetrack. Also was the year 1957 doubtless one of the distinguished and event fullest of the company’s history. Back then at the 4th of August, more than 250,000 people watched the start of the Grand Prix of the century at the Nürburgring. After an acrimonious fight with his both biggest rivals Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins, both driving the Ferrari 801 F1, Juan Manuel Fangio was able to celebrate with his lightweight constructed Maserati 250 F and only with a head start of 3.6 seconds one of his largest triumphs. Because with that terrific victory Fangio conquered his 5th world championship title and became a legend of racing car history, and so did the 250 F.

the finest in craftsmanship and quality on the market
CMC models are, arguably, the finest in craftsmanship and quality on the market. Exoto come close and in some cases may be better in certain details. These high-priced models are terrific value. they will always be collectible and will hold their price over the years based on Ebay and other sites. This Maserati is one of the best they've done thus far and the only question might be whether to buy the "generic" version or a replica as raced by, say, Fangio. I chose the one under review simply because I liked the yellow nose.Make sure to have this put in a dust-free display case or leave it in the box - which really seems silly since you paid so much for it. Setting it on a shelf is okay, but when you see the intricate wire wheels and other details on CMC models you should ask your self if you can remove dust should dust be a problem. These are beautiful and well worth the price.
