Book 1, Iridesi Empire. WOW! Dark, captivating, and totally unpredictable on every level. I loved this book!
Quinn...who and what exactly is she? She's certainly not ordinary. Is she the sex slave she appears? Does she belong to Que, the Axirlan who's ostensibly her master? All very valid questions for Arden, Herald of the Irdesi Empire. As he negotiates with Drinta, queen of Pax, the vilest, most grotesque outpost in the galaxy, Arden can't believe what he sees. Is it really possible he's finally found the one person for whom the Empire's searched for over a century? One thing is certain. Quinn doesn't want to be found. Pax is her refuge from past terrors too horrifying to even acknowledge. Oh, she remembers it all. But Que saved her. She's devoted to him. And Pax suits her just fine. But has her refuge just become her prison? There's a reason the Empire wants her. She was designed for a very specific purpose, and it wasn't just because she's the sole remaining female who's a match to their supposedly superior genetic makeup, especially Sovereign, ruler of the Irdesi Empire. She may be the only hope to avoid extinction of the Irdesi, but she's also their worst nightmare!. Quinn, formerly known as Sigil, wants nothing to do with any of this. She's been running from the Empire and her raison d'être for decades. She's not about to surrender. Despite Sovereign's military might, control tactics, plots, and schemes, Quinn refuses to give in. But Que's gone. The byway, the only access to and from Pax, is shut down. Despite her prodigious powers, she's only one female. And Sovereign and his minions have already proven just how well they can control her if they gain possession of her body. Quinn has one chance. She knows Pax like no other, the ins and outs, the cracks, crevasses, crevices, faults, and failings of every system. Escape will cause her pain unlike she's ever known, maybe even destroy her. Can she do it? Is there any hope? Or will Quinn become Sigil, the Sovereign's Imperial Consort, a puppet on a string? It all comes down to one thing. What, exactly, is Quinn willing to sacrifice for her freedom, Que, and escape from the Empire?Addison Cain is a relatively new author for me. Up until now, I've only read her contributions to several anthologies. This book blew me away. It's definitely not for the faint of heart! Quinn is incredible! She has so many layers. You never know from one second to the next exactly what she's going to do, how she'll do it, or even why. Que is her rock, having grounded her for decades. He sees her for exactly what she is: a monster but also a being of infinite capability, even fragility and compassion. And Arden, Lord Karhl, Sovereign, and Drinta? They each add that extra bit of darkness, evil masquerading as something altogether different. Malevolence shrouded in beauty is still pure evil. Addison Cain is a mistress of the dark, and she totally delivers! This book is delicious, delectable, and decadent darkness in the extreme. Again, this book is NOT for the faint of heart. But if you love dark erotica with a taste of horror thrown in, I absolutely recommend it. I can't give Sigil anything less than five stars. Congratulations, Ms. Cain. This book is outstanding!A final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, very dark horror themes, and explicit sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice. Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

An amazing combination!! Scifi/Horror/Thriller/Erotica/Suspense/Romance ~ One epic story!
Addison.... you've done it again!! If you haven't read one of Addison's books, then you haven't had the pleasure of living in these amazing worlds that she creates. I've never seen another author create worlds like Addison does, and this series is definitely no exception. This book is a cross between scifi/horror/thriller/erotica/suspense/romance. It's got a little bit of everything in it. It might seem like like a weird combination but in this book it REALLY works! The story is about a genetically altered human girl who is a BAD ASS... Like a global scale killing machine. Not only is she a bad ass, but she has also been genetically programmed to destroy the new human Irdesi Empire that is starting to take over the universe. Just like our heroine, Quinn/Sigil, they are genetically altered as well to have certain powers. The Irdesi Empire kinda reminds me of the Borg from Star Trek. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated into their collective. LOLWhile Quinn is trying to resist these blood lusting urges to hunt down the Irdesi, she does her best to give her life some type of normalcy with Que, her main squeeze for several years. He helps to tame and hold back her violent tendencies and helps to ground her when needed. What Quinn doesn't know is that as much as she's been trying to resist going after the Irdesi humans, they've been hunter for her as well. Although their reasons for finding her is not to kill her. It's to breed her. She was created for one reason, and it was to help populate the Irdesi Empire.“You were created,” he turned his fingers, skimming her palm, “to disarm me. You were fashioned as the only viable female so we could not strike you back. You were brainwashed to hate me even though your very genetics partner mine.”This is a crazy action packed ride with a little bit of everything making for A LOT of fun! It's a must read for scifi/erotic romance lovers. One of my favorite quotes: “Your name,” he explained imperiously, stepping nearer, “is Sigil. The title far more than the project for which you were fashioned. It’s what you are: inscribed genetics, a creation of perfection.”Warning: This books does contain triggers including rape and cannibalism.
