I have been needing to find leaks in AC’s lately and this look promising. I have a leaking commercial cooler that was given to me and i pin pointed the leak very quick. I believe this will be a great tool in my arsenal.

As far as ultrasonic leak detectors go, the AccuTrak is my choice. That said, it has it's niche.The good points are things like, it it's not refrigerant specific, and in fact, you can even pressure test a system using nothing, but nitrogen and find a leak. Try that with the Fieldpiece (or any other.) That said, ultrasonic leak detectors are for bigger leaks. These are for the kind of leaks that if you were to try and zone in on it with a heated diode, the diode would get flooded.After receiving much education on the subject, I personally use one detector for CFCs, a different detector for HFCs, and the ultrasonic for when it's a larger leak, or one where the system can be pressurized so well that with a bit of water or BigBlue, you can make the leaks "sing."Many YouTubers have tried to make these a one size fits all panacea. They're great, but like all of your tools, they have their proper use and place.

This thing is amazing I've pinpointed leaks that others have completely missed we with their refrigerant leak detectors. Noisy atmospheres don't matter it doesn't pick any of background noise up. I've even found some relays that were just beginning to get worn out, you could hear the internal chattering.It can get noisy around certain other equipment that's running so you'll have to adjust the sensitivity to drown out other things that generate high frequency sounds. Also if you're in a leafy area in the fall things can get noisy is it can actually pick up the sound of leaves rubbing against each other. When I first got it I had a co-worker stand about 30 feet away and rub his fingers across the foam insert of the case and I could easily hear how fingers going over the foam. As I said this thing is amazing and worth every penny.

Worth every penny! Finds leaks in seconds without the mess of bubbles. Takes the stress off of leaving a job and worrying about a call back because of a slow leak somewhere. I love this product! A must tool for anybody in the HVAC and refrigeration repair business.

I work in the HVAC industry, and this meter doesn't really work for small leak.

It works ok,but it doesn't pick up Small leaks

Bought I December 2022 used it once did not power on. Got a replacement same thing. Was sitting in the shop for 6 mos the guys said never did work. $1000 down the tubes.
