VTech Roll and Learn Activity Suitcase

... irritated. My kiddo enjoys this toy, but the electronics are faulty. It's like a sensor contact is stuck in the depressed position. According to the manual the toy is supposed to go quiet after "42 seconds of inactivity" (who came up with 42 seconds? Seems rather arbitrary, but okay). Well, instead of going quiet after 42 seconds, it starts playing, "I'm a little traveler" and just repeats the first portion of the ditty. After 10 minutes it's exceedingly irritating because the recording sings part of the verse very, very flat and it's just painful to hear. After 20 minutes the power gets shut off by anyone not deaf. My wife and I experimented to see if another one of the supposedly three songs would ever cycle through, but just shy of 20 minutes in to our test (kitchen was in full swing and mid-conversation) our patience cracked and we shut it off to the relief of everyone. A few weeks later, we've tried turning it back on to see if it's as mind-numbingly annoying and ... it is. Without a doubt, it's still instantly irritating. Kiddo still plays with it and we are very happy to have reclaimed a few C-sized batteries for use in other toys.

I bought this for my 2 year old son and he played with it as I expected him to. It is very well made and I was impressed on how well the phone and shapes stayed in the slots. I expected them to fall out all the time, but they did not. The toy does have a tendency to fall over because the front makes it 'top-heavy'. It is very light and durable and there is plenty of space to put toys inside and the door stays shut when my son drags it around.I am always impressed with the quality of VTech's toys as I was with this one.

My 2 year old likes playing with this, pulling, pushing buttons, opening and filling the inside. My concern is when this is laying on its back and my child opens and closes the side with all the bells and whistles it is very heavy. I'm just waiting for him to close it on his fingers. He was playing with it on the hardwood floor and opened it while it was laying down and the heavy side fell on his little toes resulting in tears. I wish they could have distributed the weight so the one side was not so heavy.

This is a great gift. This was for my grandson's first birthday and he loves it. The best part, before he could walk, was just putting he plastic shapes into the suitcase over and over again. We did have to watch him, at first, so he wouldn't close it on his fingers. Now that he can walk it is even more fun. He can even take it on a trip with a few of his clothes. Or even better, pack other toys inside. I highly recommend this.

This suitcase is well built and easy to use, but doesn't seem to encourage lots of imagination. It's also very front heavy (all the bells and whistles are on the 'cover' of the case) so it's hard for a small toddler to open on their own. VTech toys always seem to have annoying voices, sounds and music and this suitcase is a good example. It's also a toy that will take up a lot of room in your toy area.

After reading so good reviews about this toy, I ordered one for my son who is 20 months old. I think this toy is not worth the price. My son played with it for a day or 2, that's all. I can not hear the so called 25 sing a long melody, may be 6-8 or so. I got it because my son likes lots of rhymes but it disappointed me. May be younger children will have more fun with the toy.

My mom was very much pleased with gift choice. My son enjoys his learning activity very much. I would perfer if the handle would insert for easier storage and I would like if it count to atleast five or more. Orherwise pleased with purchase, makes a get great gift would recommend two others.

Maybe it's my grandson's taste, but he banged on this a few times, then wandered off to play with the box. He came back to this just once but never was as fascinated with it as that danged box. He was 11 months old, so I figured he'd grow into it. But thus far...just the box.On the other hand, the box was well constructed and doubles as an igloo and a hideout.

Vtech has some great interactive toys and this one is packed full of activities that keeps my little guy interested and coming back for more.
